You can check out their blogspot. vstarcamsg.blogspot.sg for pricing. They have recently uploaded their promo for SITEX to Christmas. Lucky Draw for an Ipad Mini (16GB WiFi).

My E7839WIP orders were delayed. Seems that factory didn't built according to the SG specs and all stocks were being returned back for rectification.

Damn sian. Luckily my H6837WIP still serving me well... kekeke...

Hi,

Apologies for the delay in the orders. As they have send us the stocks which IR is still at the bottom, we have no choice but to return the stocks. We cannot afford to sell lemon units here knowing about the technical flaw

Do check out our SITEX to Christmas lucky draw promo. H6837WIP Stocks are running low now. Sorry to those who have ordered but cannot get the stocks asap as our courier is fully loaded on the delivery.

Congrats on being a parent :). Some answers based on my own experience as a father of 3 kids

1) For really young infant who spends more time in the cot than anywhere else, a fixed camera will do. I find it is more important to have infra-red capabilities as it will allow you to monitor your child in a completely dark room.
2) Most first generation IP cameras are on wireless G and they still work well. Newer ones may be onwireless N, so a wireless N router is probably better.
3) It will work, but you need to configure it to make it work e.g. dynamic dns, port forwarding etc.
Hi, thank you so much for your advice.

I just checked the Sitex Pricelist and found that D-Link 932L and 942L has a price difference of S$30 with the diffrence in the support of H264 and MPEG4 format (and Card Slot).

Should I go for 942L?

I have several cameras, but the ones with H.264 encoding seems to give me the smoothest video most of the time. I'm of course referring to the Dlink DCS-5635, which has 10x optical zoom.

Dlink has a new wireless N model out during Sitex, the DCS-6010L. I'll definitely be going to get one. I'm intrigue by the so-called fish-eye lens. Not sure if it support IR cut filter.

I think it does not. More for retail shops or home with good lighting and monitoring in daytime, even GeoVision have this camera, you will not see any of the manufacturer do a sample NIGHT image display of their camera. Hope to see your review on it soon.

Maybe some buying TIPs for those who are keen to get IP camera during this SITEX.

1. Look for H.264 instead of MJPEG, reason: Sharper images, better resolution
2. Plug and Play, so even non-IT savvy guys can get it to work within minutes
3. LIVE Streaming on Mobile, if you can't see good streaming over mobile, then no point. The newer models are capable of giving you good LIVE Streaming over their mobile APPs with swipe screen controls.
4. Good tech support

Most importantly, SEE for yourself the demos. If you feel that clarity of the image isn't there, don't jump into buying. See other brands and compare first, check online demos, there are many distributors or resellers out there with online demos.

Call them to find out more. If not, you will end up cursing buying something which is crap.

Happy Shopping!

i was thinking of getting a number of aztech WIPC402 camera from sitex. Is just to monitor maid and kids in the house. Is this a good camera to get? I don't need such good quality and just able to record and view online. Btw how many days can the ip camera record in the sd card before it get full and deleted?

You might want to consider Foscam FI9820W.

Foscam FI9820W Wireless IP Camera

It has 720P HD res, sd card slot, wireless N, h264 compression, pan scan and digital zoom, IR cut filter etc.

It's going for $189 with 2 years warranty at SITEX (MCL Booth), so top up about $30 to the 942L and get HD and pan and scan. Previously i only heard of Marix (bought my current set from them) and Foscam Singapore selling it.

FI9820W Wireless Indoor IP Camera (SD-Card)
but its sold for $228.

Quite happy that got new distributor to help lower the costs....if only i can get rid of my old FI8918W (or it dies off) then i don't mind upgrading to this model (can't afford to put 2 ipcams in the house, with 1 my mom is already complaining....lol)

Currently i'm using IPCam Viewer as it supports a huge range of brands/models (and is frequently updated) to view it on my Android phone.

I'm not sure of the video quality though, and there's not much reviews on the net. Maybe if someone here has one can review it?

3. LIVE Streaming on Mobile, if you can't see good streaming over mobile, then no point. The newer models are capable of giving you good LIVE Streaming over their mobile APPs with swipe screen controls.

For live streaming, one key consideration is the network lag. If you are using your mobile phone, then you are at the mercy of the network. For me for example, I am on 3G, and in the morning (at the office), the live streaming is very smooth. But by late morning, the 3G network gets congested, and live streaming becomes a 'stop-motion' streaming :D.

You should also take note of network to network hop lag. My home fibre is Singnet, and my SingTel mobile works best. If I use M1 or Starhub, the lag is quite noticeable. I did a side-by-side comparison using IP Cam Viewer.

Agree wif Dr_Archer on 3G. Network dependent. Btw, the D-Link Fisheye resolution is unfortunately not as good as I would expect it to be. Someone was asking about it, so I
Being the kapo self, stood ard n listen n watch. The HD resolution was not good. So, I doubt I'll get it for my warehouse.

Btw, lens r not IR capable cos the guy who asked the sales person also wanted to put in warehouse like me. In the end, he didn't buy.

Yes, the MCL is distributing Foscam now, so now we'll see price war starting. Good news for consumers n factory.

So, DR_ARCHER, have you visited the SITEX? Did you buy the Fisheye camera?

The D-Link Fisheye was something very nice to have, but unfortunately, in NIGHT TIME, it will be total darkness. We can't even use external IR Lights to illuminate the area. Maybe someone can buy, and see if the lens can be changed, then this might help. I didn't remember to ask them when I was there.

Haven't gone down to Sitex yet. I dropped by Challenger Funan last night to pick up my Samsung SmartPC Pro, but couldn't find any DCS-6010 cameras there. So I guess I will have to drop by Sitex later.

A bit disappoint if it does not have the IR.

Try M1 LTE. Smooth as silk

OK. Thought I will share with everyone here before MARIX comes here to post. The production of E7839WIP SG Version is discontinued.
Don't ask me the reason why...

However, they have redesign a new replacement model for SG Market for MARIX. According to the sales, it have a new look. But uses same mounting bracket as the E7839WIP.

So, all those bros and sis here who have ordered the unit will not get it liao. I'm looking forward to the newer model that is coming in, can't wait to get my hands on it.

DR_ARCHER, you want a unit to review? I'll ask them to pass you one also if you are keen.
