Got Thief went into my room, lost few $k and made a police report~ from all angle, biggest suspect is the landlord due to no sight of break-in the room. But now I.O said we can't do anything, they will try to get the DNA if happened in my cabinet. :X But because it's like 4 days after then i notice the money is missing, so they not certain whether can tack back.
And they can't force the landlord to admit the crime because don't have solid evidence.

So what i wanna do now is, setup a IP Camera in my room. Since my router is on 24/7 if no power trip, then should be no problem. :/ anyone suggest which brand i can use? as long as it can record up to 5 days then that will be enough

iirc, yes it is illegal, u need to get approval from hdb if u wan to mount a camera outside ur door.

I am using the grey model

So far so gd. just that the battery last abt only 1.5wk.
And the wake-up took like 5-7sec. Only gd if someone stays there more than 5-7sec.

The video quality 640x480 & low light was pretty good.

Now you see why I recommend them? Which bug? Motion detection is much better now, n the format bug was fixed.

Its preset function for camera #2 onwards. v3.15 will crash when preset camera #2 onwards. v3.16 is able to set 2 preset positions for camera #2 and #3 but crash on 3rd.

I organised a group buy and Marix is very helpful to assist my friends to setup mutiple cameras.

After some time of reading through up to previous 6 pages, and do some survey on the website i think my mindset quite clear already~. Need some advice on the brand and model.

;) I'm looking for a IP Camera with some of the below features.
-Quite user friendly, although i'm IT Savvy but this my first time interact with IP Camera
-Motion Detector
-Email notification when the camera detect a movement, i don't mind is false alarm.
-Can work with Singtel PACE Router (dang i hate it, but hopefully this is not a problem)
-A backup storage? like Cloud? In case the theft stole the whole camera with SD card inside.
-IR Sensor
-Can schedule a time

Sorry, maybe i seems to be a retard to everyone.

I just recently got a new router ASUS RT-N56U and the FOSCAM IP Camera FI9821W. I tried following all the instructions to set it up. So I hooked it up, connected the router to my Starhub LINKSYS gateway modem, and connected the camera via WIFI to the router. I did the rest and configured the router port forwarding n DDNS, and tried to access the camera from my smartphone (via 3G) but it doesnt work.
Can someone advise what I might have done wrong or not done? Do I need to configure my LINKSYS modem too? Do I need to disable firewall on both modem n router?
Thanks in advance!

Porbably nothing to do with the modem. Your FI9821w may have wifi problem (Foscam Forum • View forum - Technical Support). My can see SSID, but can never connect. So I connect by powerline and it worked. But after 5 months, it died. Returned to local distributor and now waiting for RMA. Can't do an immediate 1-1 exch.

I now run a T7837 vstarcam in place. Had a problem with the IR. Marix tested it over the net and confirmed the issue. Immediate exchange 1-1 available next day offered. Great and patient support staff :) IMO, a better built cam too.

They were my EX-COY IT Vendor, so it just happen that they started Distribution and brought in the IP Cameras. I was their volunteer product tester for the range of cameras they brought in cos I was hunting for an IP camera back then to monitor my kid n dog.

I had multiple D-Link, Linksys, Apexis cameras before, and gave away after I upgraded.

Started with Foscam FI8918W cam with them. Almost every 3 months I return the product to them cos of Motor issue. 1st time, motor stuck, 2nd time, motor no longer move. Take down camera, can hear something dropped off inside. 3rd time, again motor screwed up. I gave up. Then they offer to replace with H6837WI. I used VStarcam and did not have problem for 6 months on the motor. H6837WIP came and I upgraded cos I was impressed with the LIVE Streaming which now all the major brands are only just started. When I step into the T series, it was a whole total new experience. The main factory NEVER wanted audio with recording. It was MARIX that pushed the factory hard for it knowing the market well, so T series users should see an update soon in late September or early October. In fact, yes, VStarcam products are never perfect, its the distributors that listen to our problem that makes the manufacturer resolve the issue or enhance it. It makes a big difference.

That's why I strongly recommends them to anyone. A good company should be kept alive and not die off the market cos of unhealthy price competition.

Now I really look forward to see the sample test unit of the 3x outdoor camera. I will write a review for it too.
