Well, 4th Gen products will be released by end of this year. My last visit to China. I saw a lot of manufacturers moving towards coupling hardware sensor into their products already. Big brands like D-Link will suffer if they can't catch up

EasyN vs Vstarcam

Hi Gecko,
Lets not assume that I am here to support EasyN products. Let's not argue over who is better and so on and so on. This will not end. I've been through the learning phase on these China products. So here's the sharing point for all EasyN users. If you have a problem please come to me. I'm can help you with your issues.

So to Gecko and company, lets move on. I'm a old bird.

Apple to apple comparison

Well, if u google history of VStarcam, they r the main group of key technology people in easyN who jumps ship n left easyN to startup on their own.

If I do apple to apple comparison, VStarcam is definitely better. I used H3 compared to H6837Wi n VStarcam's MJPEG series to compared against F2 back then. It was clearly that VStarcam is a winner. Note that the models I had compared back then was the top selling range from both companies. Why I buy easyN? Simple, dirt cheap price back then, as if it was going for closing down sales.

Some bros have bought over my easyN after I decided that it wasn't good enough for me after trying to get the china tech support to fix a bug n got very frustrated.

Well, thats my personal experience over the 2 brands.

I just wonder how you would do apple to apple comparison with such sweeping statements. Forum readers will not know what you are talking about here. H3 has many variants so how do you do apple to apple comparison? Please stop making unfair comparisons here.

For your information, my F2 & H3 purchases were pre-orders from MARIX, I had personally contacted EasyN sales team over their website and asked for H6837WI & F6836W equivalents. So, technical specs wise, I'm sure I'm making a fair comparison. Note that the F2 & H3 models I had were of the same timing as the H6837WI, competitive products at the same era.

Anyway, readers will do their own research online to know which cameras fits their needs. Whether I am doing an unfair comparison, they read the other posts they will know if I actually owns the products before or not.

Again. I ain't an old bird nor do I have many years of experience in electronics. Just an old man who plays with electronic toys including vibrators if you must know. :s13:

Allow me to say a few words.

It is important to recognise that different people have different experiences, both with a product and/or the retailer. That's what this thread is about: sharing of experiences, kknowledge, problems and solutions. While haring, one should bear in mind that if one is over enthusiastic about a certain brand or retailer, one may come across as having a vested interest in that brand or retailer.

Certain brands/retailers have their merits. Dlink for example has wide range of cameras, their products are 'reasonably' priced, easily available, easy set-up and good features. It is a strong brand name, but firmware support may be lacking. OEM models may be cheaper, but firmware support is almost non existent. Mediapro as a retailer has a wide range of cameras to choose and even view, but their price is rather fixed. Marix is one of the few sellers I know that actually test your unit before you pick it up so that you don't need to worry that you picked up a lemon set.

Lemon set

Hi to all forum readers and soon to be IP camera vendors,
Dr Archer mention a point which I feal is very true regarding LEMON sets. No matter who you buy the unit from, make sure you have local support. Vstarcam or EasyN whatever. Local support will ensure you get what you deserve. Beware of parallel importers. You do not get the full support.

And to Gecko, if you wish to bring your sex life into this forum, please spare some consideration for those with decent families.

Guess you didn't get the bloody joke on the "vibrator" portion... I had enough fun with a new vendor here over the last 2 weeks. So, I'll move on with the decent discussion for now... kekeke

Wired vs wireless

Home security, nothing beats a conventional CCTV System. Wired always works wonders

The point I putting across here is that you statement here doesn't help anyone. There are pros and cons to wired vs wireless. What matters is if you really know what you are talking about here. Technically speaking, if you know how to make a wireless system stable such that you can do away with wired connections. Link budget, RF sensitivity, TX power and so on. Make sure you know your stuff before you make such a sweep statement.

I having so much fun here seeing you embarrass yourself here too.:D

Looks like you still don't get the point. Or simply its because of your shallowness. Please bear in mind that this forum is not a place for dirty jokes. We have kids reading the forum. Please be considerate and stop embarrasing yourself here.

If you need to do apple to apple comparison, please let others know exactly what and which model you are comparing with. This ambiguity is not going to help anyone and wasting everybody's time reading.

I had enough fun for now, gonna go back to more fun testing with new cameras for now. Will release a few more reviews later on several cameras which I will be laying my hands on.

Dr_Archer,

Does your T7833WIP needs any further LENs calibration? One of my friend's lens is stuck when he tried to re-calibrate it for higher placing. So he brought it back for 1 to 1 exchange on the spot. Yours OK boh?

Thanks Dr_Archer for highlighting that point, we try our best to ensure no lemon sets are on the market to prevent frustration by consumers.

DR_Archer,

You bought the D-Link 360 degree fisheye camera, can you help me to make a comparison against Mobotix's Q24 based on your ownership of the D-Link and the youtube video demo as follows? MOBOTIX Q24 360

I'm struggle between ordering the Mobotix or buy the D-Link for my new office. I'm certainly impress on the image correction on the Mobotix, care to share your view on this?

;)
