Official APP is EYE4 or VSCAM. They r not support DDNS features liao on their end, unless u prefer to use your own DDNS.

I gave up asking them to check and update my DDNS liao

Hi,

I'm currently on DLINK 5020L, Wifi works pretty alright but 3G/4G is somehow slow or disconnected. What could go wrong here? Should i change to another brand? Please advise, thanks.

If everything else is OK, but only 3G/4G is giving problem, then it could be a network to network problem. My cameras are on Singnet fibre and I get different speeds if I use M1/Singnet/Starhub. Best is Singnet 3G/4G and worst is Starhub 3G/4G.

Dog camera.

Hey people,

Am thinking of getting a camera to monitor my 3 dogs who are roaming at home. *

Have a friend with Sineoji and another with D-Link.

The Sineoji mobile phone app has a cool function that allows one press of the button for the camera to pan to and fro or tilt up and down, giving a easy sweep of the surrounding quickly.

The D-Link mobile phone app on the other hand, needs repeated pressing on the screen to do that.

Am wondering if the Vstarcam or other cameras have mobile apps that can do that, i.e. one click to sweep the area?

Thanks,

Chester

Yes, one click to sweep the area is available for EasyN also. Do you need one camera for each room? Also for outdoors as well if you are on landed property. You can catch the culprit who shits in your living room if you have recording function.

VStarcam can do pan/tilt patrol (1hour). Or presets to positions (5) frequent used area. This is much effective. There is a cruise preset on iphone. I used it to search my home for my son who will run n do hide n seek when he sees cam move.

Alternatively, a 3rd party app like the IP Cam Viewer allows you to do the patrol options without tying you to a specific brand/model of IP cameras.

purchased both the DLink and Sineoji and set it up yesterday, both the HD versions.

The DLink wins hands down in low light and even total darkness. The Sineoji on the other hand, failed in the same test. Day time was comparable for both.

Mobile app wise, the DLink app is quite limited, i.e. one camera view, cannot one-click pan/tilt, presets, etc but the Sineoji can do all of that.

Looks like I have go to third party apps to get all those functions on my D-Link then...

U mean sineoji's night vision not bright to lit up the area? There's at least 8 leds on their cam rite?

hi guys,

i have a requirement here, and reading about all the cameras / software here, i need to check with the gurus here on their opinion:

Purpose
1)To install wireless IP cam to catch vandals - my car has been scratched before in my HDB MSCP.
2) IP cam will be position to cover left and right side of car. Front and rear will be handled by my dedicated in car DVR operating 24/7.
3) This will allow me to have as close to 360 degrees of coverage as possible.

Requirements:
1) Wireless IP cam with WIFI & Night Vision - my car park is dimly lit at night
2) Can be powered by portable battery pack (eg 10,000mah battery pack), or can be connected to car's battery directly
3) I can log in any time (PC, android) to view the cams in my car
4) Good to have - auto upload to NAS / NVR, either in car or wireless thru 3G - I have a spare SIM card that can use up to 30gb of data plan per mth. If NAS/NVR is in car, additional power requirements would have to be taken in consideration.

Items shortlisted:
1) 2 x T7838WIP
2) I will be using a 3G mobile wifi with battery pack in car - good for 6-8hrs (M5350 - Welcome to TP-LINK)
Equipped with a built-in 3G modem - No other bulky devices required
HSPA+ supported with up to 21.6Mbps download and 5.76Mbps upload speeds
Powerful 2000mAh battery is ideal for extended hours of outdoor use

Questions:
1) how do i power both T7838WIP cams? Can i wire a battery pack to them ? (eg: 10,000 mah battery to each) Or can i plug them to my car battery for 24/7 monitoring?
2) Placement of the cams - where would be ideal? And not interfere with regular driving.

thanks in adv.

Note T7838WIP LENS is 3.6mm. May not be wide enuff. Perhaps install an actual all round car surveillance camera from car workshop may cost you lesser in overall cost.

I've done a testing for marix using their battery pack on T7892WIP. It lasted a whopping near 13hrs. But for T7838WIP, it didn't last up to 11 hrs. For 32gb microsd card, recording is more than enuff.

Note that anything that happens, you will surely retrieve the clips within 24hrs.
