Hi all, is there anyone who is able to help me in setting up my cameras for viewing outside my wifi range. (ie. on my 3g mobile and office desktops). I had followed some of the youtubes videos i google but I am still unable to view it.

I am clueless on what to do for the port forwarding rules and etc. I do not mind paying for a service fee if the problem could be solved. Please PM me. Thanks!:s11:

I need help on this too please. I am using 2Wire 2701HGV-E. At the page of "Firewall Application Profile Definition", always show error so I cannot add anything to the list. Please help.

Wider angle ip Camera

Hi guys,

I am currently using the AVM459 from AVTECH to capture the a construction progress. However, as the construction progresses, it turns out that the ip camera's lens is not wide enough. Can anyone advise me if there is a better camera with wider lens in the market?

The specification for AVM459 is as follows:

Image Sensor 1/2.9" SONY CMOS image sensor
Min Illumination 1 Lux / F1.4, 0 Lux (LED ON)
S/N Ratio More than 48dB (AGC off)
Electronic Shutter 1/2 to 1/10,000 sec
Lens f2.8 ~ 12mm / F1.4 ~ F2.8
Viewing Angle
Wide: 109° (Horizontal) / 76° (Vertical) / 116° (Diagonal)
Tele: 24° (Horizontal) / 13.5° (Vertical) / 27°(Diagonal)
IR LED 2 Units
IR Effective Range
Default : up to 25M
IR Enhanced Mode : up to 35M
IR Enhanced Mode + Slow Shutter 1/10 sec : up to 50M
Mobile Surveillance iPad / iPhone / Android mobile device

Thanks in advance!

So, setting up IP camera not easy? I'm a tech idiot, I know many of you here recommend VStarcam, is that easy to install? And where do you guys buy it? I went to Marix website, look like all models are out of stock, anywhere else to buy? I checked Challenger, they don't carry VStarcam.

I am not on fibre, just 25mbps cable, using DLink N-300 cloud router, which Vstarcam model do you recommend that is idiot proof, easy to install. I'm using it just to monitor my pet.

Challenger sold out liao, all outlets. Only can get from MARIX OFFICE now. But... they are also Out of Stock.

Saw on their BlogSpot, new models C Series coming out. Got ONVIF and can work with their own DVR system for longer recording.

But I called them just now, they told me real sales will be delayed as there is a major bug found and they decided to hold sales but will accept pre-orders online still.

Other T series models next week then come, I ordered 10 sets already for my clients who wants it. Can call them to pre-order loh.

Fixed T7892WIP still have EX-STK. T7837WIP got limited stocks also, best if you call them.

Can I check with you guys who has D-Link DCS-5222L? Does it has built-in mic & speaker for 2-way comm?

This site DCS-5222L Cloud PTZ Camera | D-Link UK
says Built-in microphone and speaker for 2-way communication.

This youtube from D-Link says need external speaker for two-way audio.

There is no built-in speakers for the DCS-5222L, only built-in mic. It has a speaker jack for you to connect external speakers though. The DCS-6010 fish-eye camera has a built-in speaker, but the clarity is not there.

Understand that there are now 3 version of DCS-5222L: A1, B1, B2 (as seen here)

A1: built-in microphone
B1: built-in microphone and speaker
B2: not sure, cannot see the datasheet.

Can you check if yours is A1 or B1?

I have the Aztech WIPC408HD which has only a built-in microphone. Connecting an external speaker (even a mini) add weight to the device mounted on the ceiling.

Will be keen to have a built-in microphone and speaker. Need not be good audio. Just need to sound off my kids remotely.

Should be a A1. I bought it when it was first launched.

When overseas, I used my IP cameras as video phone. A good speaker means my wife can hear me clearly.

I bought one last month from challenger. Ver B1, confirm with mic and speaker built in. Tested working.

Not a lot but just enough to cover my whole flat. You can get them from Convergent Systems Pte Ltd or Challenger@Jurong Point. I believe coming COMEX will have too.

Some I got from the last IT SHOW at promotional prices from Convergent Systems PL

https://www.convergent.com.sg/showBrand.aspx?BrandId=75

do you rely on the microsd cards given for recording or you have a NVR, NAS recording?

one thing about the Samsungs seems like you can only make use of their app to view cameras 1 by 1 or if Synology also 1 by 1...cannot use IP View since all is on port 80 and unable to change.

I've just replaced 10 DLINK ip cameras with 9 fixed SAMSUNG ip cameras. 7 of them are SmartCam HD Pro (SNH-P6410BN) and 2 are SmartCam WiFi Home Security (SNH-1011N).

So far I'm very happy for they gave me IR (all models) and wide angle coverage (SmartCam HD Pro) which I cannot find for both features in the cameras here.

With wide angle I do not require a PTZ camera as it provides overlap coverage. And the IR provides adequate power for my 4-room HDB flat

Currently I'm using them for monitoring only. No recording needed for the moment.

I am using Synology NAS for recording at multiple locations, however the recorded footage is not HD as it is thru RSTP, have feed back to Synology to support these cameras but unlike the Panasonics which they were fast to respond to my requests, the Samsung Techwins they seem reluctant.

the Wide Dynamic Range, IR and wide angle for the Samsung is really value for money.

Bought the Samsung SNH-P6410BH online.

Managed to set static IP for Lan but wireless need to use DHCP.

Still have not tried on Robert Chou's IP Cam Viewer Pro.

Currently I have 2 other IPcams from Trendnet and Dlink in my network as well. They uses port 81 and 82 (set in the respective IPcam network settings). The Samsung do not have setting for port in network. So should I use 80 (which my Asus wireless router is using)?

Thanks.

Thanks.

you can reserve the IP using the camera's mac addresses so you can port forward to 80 which is the only port Samsung allows it to be used.

user name is always admin followed by password you set.

IP View Pro app will be able to view it but only 1 Samsung camera at a time depending on which you set to in your router.

Thanks, bro. Will give it a try.

What happens if there is 2 of these IPcam at the same time? Only one can be used by IPcam Viewer Pro right?

Have to say, quite impressed with the wider angle of this IPCam. Just place at a corner will be able to cover the whole area. So much better than the Trendnet PTZ I have also. Now can see my living room all at once.

For those considering the DCS-5222L ...

I bought a Ver B2 during COMEX ... and WoooW ... the camera view is much wider ... it is almost like adding on a wide angle lens on my older B1 version which I bought last month !!!

Try it yourself ... :)
