Can you elaborate why we should avoid VStarcam camera? Most of the models review on Amazon looks quite alright. Was intending to get some soon.

I have 4 units. All comes with auto reboot issue. Marix/vstarcam tried to resolve it but to no avail. Hence they are generous enough to refund me.

Went on to get other models and never look back since.

So what are the other models you will recommend? For people like me that is not tech savvy.

If u r recording vstarcam to their NVS, it works, microsd card recording seems to have screwed up once again after every firmware upgrades. But NVR wise, I didn't buy the new Vstarcam NVR from MARIX, so I can't comment. Am moving away from vstarcam products already. They used to b good, now I shake head only. Am now trying a new product range from MARIX. The 2 way audio is much much better n playback comes with audio also. Only drawback is lack of multi view on mobile.

Firmware wise, MARIX have no control over it. They have stopped collaborating with Vstarcam to test firmware. So now, the firmware release is very jialat, new firmware sure something else will not work. Their microsd card recording very jialat in the C series. Cameras keeps auto reboot by itself

Foscam is based off OEM models that is also found in other brands. You know this because if you use a 3rd party app for your camera, you can choose the Foscam model for some of the other brands.

While Dlink may also use some OEM models, I think that they also designed their own. I have a couple of Dlink models that are not found in any brands.

Right now though, most cameras seem to have similar specs, even though they are from the same OEM (original equipment manufacturer).
