Won Exchange Rate

The exchange rate is 954 to 955 now. Should i change now or wait.. Traveling in Dec 2023.

wow this is a long way to go. but i think the highest i seen since they open up is around 980?

was hopping it goes to 1000 but it never did in SG, heard it reaches 1000 in Korea for a while.

It did breached 1000 back in Oct/Nov for a few weeks... can see some of the arcade changers selling at 1000+ then...

ya, regretted never change back then. now is struggling to go 960 locally.

going there in 2 weeks time.

to put it into perspective... a 20won difference is just abt 2cents... change 1K SGD is only 20dollars...

so unless change a lot... dun get too bother by that few Won difference...

Just use YouTrip... damn useful and easy...

the difference is actually about 30000 won if you compare with exchange rate of 990 and now which is 960.

this will be about $30 SGD for every 1K we change lol.

i have youtrip. but you have experience withdrawing from ATM there? can share?

I never tried withdraw from ATM there...

But the card acceptance rate there is very high... can use YouTrip for almost anything... only those street food or small street stalls use cash...

I ended up with lots of Korean Won cash unused...

cannot withdraw out in local ATM...

but u can use it for other stuffs... like paying SP bills... online shopping... etc... basically anywhere that accepts mastercard... it is also a ezlink card... so can use on transport as well...

Would like to know if there’s any admin fee for using trust card to withdraw from deposit account using the ATM in Korea?

ps: Jan 23, I did managed to withdraw cash from Bank of Taiwan ATM before without incurring any admin or bank fee, the rate is way better than arcade monies changers!

change alley best rate today: 959.
anyone know if the rate in korea physical money changer shops better?
