Won Exchange Rate

Good day experts!

Planning to change about 5-8k sing for my holiday in S.korea.

Wondering is this a good time to change ? notice some seniors managed to get 830 in oct and it flop to 817 last couple of days. flying 23rd to seoul....

Understand some places in Korea do accept USD as payment as well ...

would it be good to change to USD ?

Best to change a little bit here. Enough for the trip to Myongdong to exchange the rest... rate overall better in the location I posted here.
There are other exchange nearby... don't go there as the rate are worse than SG...

Changed in myeongdong at 809 when in SG highest showed 807.

I always check SG rate at https://cashchanger.co/singapore/sgd-to-krw

Anyway, not all Myeongdong money exchange rate are good. Only the one opposite cafe 1896 / Chinese embassy red gate which give better rate. There are other money changer around there, there's 2 red gate of the Chinese Embassy. Don't approach the wrong one.

That day when I changed 805, the other money changer in front of the other red gate was offering 800, and while walking around, saw other exchanger showing 790.

Walk a little bit to get a better rate. Especially if you're changing big amount.

Make sure first stop in Seoul is the Myeongdong

Out from Myeongdong Subway station exit 5, walk along migliore till junction where you'll see C&U, turn right into myeongdong 2-gil. Walk past myeongdong 8na gil, the second junction you'll see the money changer at the corner like below:

In my opinion, keep SGD... Cause in myeongdong, quite good for SGD to won.
Similarly heard in Bangkok Airport rate of SGD to Baht alley quite good.
For Malaysia, have to see which part, cause some area in SG give better rate of exchange. Even can't finish use, still can go jb from sg as and when...

Just came back from Seoul.

I got the feeling that changing to Won should be better in Singapore at this point in time. Maybe if you go to the exchange recommended near the Chinese Embassy the rate might be better.

On 11th November, I exchanged at Change Alley (Raffles Place) for 817 and some US$ at rate 1.362, AMK hub was rated at 805.
On 14th November while at Myeongdong, the rate was 805. US$ was rated at 1110. After changing US$ to Won, I realised I was 1000+Won short i.e. it would be better had I changed all to Won in Singapore.

2 to 3 days later the same exchange shop at Myeongdong S$ was rated at 798 Won.

The chinese embassy rate at Meyondong yesterday is exactly S$1 = $800 won. Just passed by yesterday and changed. The rest of exchange shop are way lesser than that.
