So humble.... you have more shoes than all my clothes combined!![]()
Actually, I think, I too, have more shoes then my clothes.
I don't know what on earth I'm doing.
I read up a discussion on styleforum, you can actually accelerate the time for breaking in. Use a metal stick, press down on where you want the creases to be and flex the shoe accordingly.
I found that it helps to retain the aesthetics of the shoe and also prevent the creases from forming on weird areas leading to rubbing on other parts of the upper part of your foot.
My meermins are still stiff as ever but the parts where the blisters were at do not hurt anymore. Could be due to a thicker layer of skin forming over, but i like to think that this method helped at least a little?
The ankle heel part cant be helped tho. Thick socks and plaster!
Meermin well know for stiff leather. If i only wear once a week, i think i take yrs. cannot be wearing everyday esp if that day i need to be comfortable and i meed to rest my blister too
So my first patina from natural crust is completed...
The experience is entirely different from restripping an existing shoe and patina again... like the amount of dye needed is much much more... the welt and sole coloring. Even the masking tape make a lot of difference....

EEAs leathers are tough as hell! Part of its charm IMO.Depends on the range that you are buying as well. The classic range will typically take longer to break in but I personally think that the EEA shoes take even longer. The plus side is that the quality of the leather feels better than EEA at similar or lower price.

Am sorry. I was actually the one who organised that gmto.
My initial thought was calf / scotch grain. But eventually went with suede due to another participant's preference.
wah no need sorry la. The shape of it is dam nice and unique, actually did not noticed the suede in the pictures on first look. only after reading the description. GPGT when they have arrived!
Haha, actually the picture merely illustrates the model of what the final make up will be like. That's where the similarity ends
The last will be different from that shown in the picture. And the picture also shows it made fully in calf, no suede.
Sorry, I've gotten quite lazy nowadays so I most my shoe pics mainly on IG. Don't really post on forums nowadays.
cool ic. i liked it when they said fitting like rain last. coz thats pretty much only the few last i know my size for and i do like how it fits too. maybe next mto or something side laced oxfords looks dope
If you are just starting out on your shoe journey, you can also consider the brown captoe with hidden seams GMTO that's currently going on. I have a hand in that as well.
The design is fairly unique, and it will make a really good pair for formal occasions / work (IMO).
