Does anyone have experience with cobblers who add sole protectors to women's shoes? Are there specific cobblers who are able to do it, or is it simply a matter of cutting the sole protectors to size so all cobblers should be able to do so?

Yea just cut nia.

Or use no brand rubber sheets.

why so? dw has hand welted stich and marx b is good year welted

Marx B premium range is GYW. Dont think their lower ranges are. Depends on which one you're getting. IF GYW then go for it.

As for Diamond Walker. Go read my Basic Shoe Construction 101 guide which I've set the directions to in my previous post.

Pretty self explanatory as to why you should avoid

Marxb isn't worth the price. I've tried the lower range, two pairs. On a rotation basis with three pairs of shoes, it gave way in less than six months. Place of production should be of concern too, not sure where it is made tho

That's interesting to note. When you say rotation basis with 3 pairs, do you mean of the 3 pairs, 2 are from MarxB? Or do you mean you have 5 pairs, of which 2 pairs from MarxB?

How much walking do you do on a daily basis?

I have two pairs of Marxb and a pair of loake 1880. I walk probably 2ish km a day. My loake is still doing fine till this day. Probably a year or so since I threw away my Marxb.

Hi I couldn't find your link. For dw and Marx b I'm comparing based on hand stitching for dw and good year welt for Marx b. I'm not looking for lower ranges.

DW is shite their andwelting doesn't compare to decent goodyear welt so no pt wasting your time.

And when you say you are not looking for lower ranges that's not very helpful. DW "high" range at close to $1k doesn't compare to meermin at $300+ so pls look past the mktg speak and do a proper dollar to dollar value evaluation.

I have no idea how diamond walker makes their shoes but I'm sure they aren't "handwelted".

But....

Taking the statement "handwelted doesn't compare to decent gyw" at face value.... well, this is surely inaccurate.

Does

"DW handwelted shoes doesn't compare to decent gyw ones in terms of quality or value" work better?

For the sake of playing the Devil's Advocate. What would you call this :D? 0.49 on

I see uppers, I see a welt.
I do not see a holdfast. I do not see a proper leather insole.
I do not see the correct stitching method for handwelting.
I would also be willing to bet that the thread is cotton.
To call this monstrosity, handwelting, would be quite misleading.

I'll toss in "Atrociously low SPI" onto that steaming pile as well

Well @yuangc, the guru of shoes has passed Judgement.

Diamond Walker shoes are endorsed by Kpop stars and actors.
If that floats your boat, then you are at the right dock.
