i always prefer to use the right colour cream and polish.
neutral when the leather is musuem calf or a colour which i don't have exact match for.

Or if the person plan to also use wax for a better shine, than neutral cream, plus black and brown wax.

So it is still recommended to use the shoe colour creme? But how to know if the dark Saphir dark brown creme matches the Loake 1880 dark brown? apologies if i am asking a noob qns.

Heard a lot about Cobbler Union. Can give a bit of review? I like the insole.

I feel that the quilted insole(only heel area) is abit gimmicky, it doesn't do much for me in terms of comfort.

I'm noob to boots, if I have to benchmark against the brands, it will be in-between meermin and CJ benchgrade (yup... thats all i can benchmark agst)
Interesting to see how it matches up against Carmina (Jumper Boot) as the price point is quite similar.
Supple leather, padded tongue & vibram soles, makes it surprisingly comfortable, with minimal break in needed.
Though i wished the soles could be thinner, as it look/felt slightly clunky.
IMO its worth the money paid for.

Good sales service as well, fast response and follow-up on shipment/delivery

IIRC, 1st time order can use discount code -USD$25

Cream has some colour pigment, and polish/wax has more.
So both (if darker than your leather) will add some colour/darken the leather a bit.
When in doubt, use neutral or a lighter colour.

Wow. Did nottiedotti mention he was expecting the shoes to look like butt plugs? :s11: All he verbalized was his opinion that the shoes did not look nice to him.

How is his comment "inane"? Please explain. :s22:
Hahah my comment was exactly the same as what he posted. I expressed my opinion which wasn't helpful or meaningful to the conversation without qualifying it.

What's the pt of simply saying the shoes don't look nice at all? Obviously OP thought they were and I've looked at them myself and thought they were pretty decent. Just saying the shoes don't look nice... Then what? Introduce some designs you think look nice lah.

Anyway, guest underscore, all I did was verbalise my opinion that they look nothing like what the OP obviously has extensive experience in. From the looks of things, you might be a customer. Mods please take action

My friend,
Let's leave these guys be.
I am not fond of conflict, and I fully respect another person's taste in aesthetics.
So I didn't see a need in responding to "him".
Especially not someone who has obvious difficulties in spelling and takes comfort in hiding behind eccentric female pseudonyms. In some circles, his post might be regarded as trolling. But I really don't care.
Perhaps in "his" haze of "his" oestrogen pills and "his" bid to grow breasts, and "his" emails with "his" sex change surgeon, "he" felt the need to get in touch with "his" feminine side and the world know how "he" felt about boots.
"He" kind of reminds me of Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs. Not one of us, not one of them either.

I'm thinking of purchasing a pair of driving loafers from the shoe snob. Anyone else thinking to do the same thing? We can combine and split the shipping. Obviously no shoe trees or that's gonna bust the GST cap... Take it to PMs if interested.

Speaking of driving loafers. The ones at cobbler union look good tbh. Though with the discount, shoe snob is cheaper.
