Does anyone know what the proper way to measure shoes are? Meermin has v kindly emailed me the measurements of one of their sizes / last, but I'm not sure where and how this should be compared to my current pair of shoes - some of the measurements look quite off (Especially if I am measuring from, f.e.x. sole):

They've just given you completely useless information.
The length of the outsole / or even the insole, does not correspond to the actual length of your foot. There is plenty of deadspace in the toe of the last. And the length of this dead space varies widely between makers and lasts.
There's also no way a 27.2cm foot (longest length) corresponds to a uk9. I'm a 27.5 and I'm a comfortable uk8.5 in most lasts, uk8 in some. Unless the last is ultra ultra narrow.

Carlos Santos derby
Beautiful last & finish, leather a bit stiff but break-in quite painless
wears slightly bigger than my other english shoes of the same size though... could it be its derby instead of oxford?

Does anyone know the current prices at Carmina @ Capitol Piazza? It's been awhile since I've checked out the store

One of the choices I was considering for my first GYW.. May get a pair yet, down the road. Very nice, thanks for sharing!

Surprise that you fancy Carlos Santos, considering your other recent shoes were C&J Handgrades and Cleverleys (if memory serves me right). Perhaps for the variety..

trying the different range... I also bought Meermins but gave up liao
Anyway that pair of derby looks too tempting :o

Received my first GYW shoes - a pair of burgundy Loake Strands and they fit perfectly. Can't wait to wear them :)
