I read so many pages and reddit so many different opinions...
Budget about 300+ can strech to 500

Like Allen Edmonds Fifth avenue cap toe oxford factory second but no size
Or should i look for local MTM

Any poison to recommend?

Go down to Seamless Bespoke and look at their Yanko collection

Actually I think black dress shoes can match most dark/mid-coloured navy and grey business pants (which are pretty much the norm business pants colours) and are still the safest choice for office purpose.

But I find that black dress shoes don't go well with more casual pants (e.g. chinos, jeans), regardless of the pants colour.

Agreed!

Instead of black, navy shoes will look very nice and fit into formal wear

Hi for those who topy their leather sole, what about your heel sole? I feel that after two weeks of wear, the heel sole has worn off abit, also saw some small hole. Probably due to walking at road and rough surface. Is it normal, how long does the heel sole can last? Talking about loake Aldwych

good timing for this question. I notice a pair of mine having the same issue today. Curious to see what others have to say on this.

I think you can topy the the heal as well but its not as common.

Can change the entire heel pad. Topying will add height to the heel and change and balance of the shoe, it's more uuncomfortable to walk around with a higher heel anyway. A good gauge as to when to change is before the rubber portion (where your heel strikes) wears off, exposing the wood beneath.

Second that, the quality is remarkably better but I just can’t make myself buying a AM suede(never owned suede before and has previous bias against) so went to Yanko to try but I am not disappointed

To the Bros with AM, would you ‘save’ 3 pairs of AM and go straight to MTO/Bespoke with Josh? Interested to hear your views

I don't own any AMs yet, but I'd say if you already have most basic designs / styles covered. You can go for bespoke for a more customized look and better fit. Its always better to have a professional to take measurements for you :s22:

I think most people own a lot of shoes before going to the bespoke route.
Sort of like need to wear and own a lot of shoes before 'knowing' what you really want which is not offered as a RTW.

I do not wish to come across as trolling the thread to promote Josh or SB, that's why I always try to refrain from "advertising" on the thread.

It is very very hard to say that something is 3 times better than Antonio....

BUT, if you guys trust me and trust how I assess quality and value, I would like to stick my neck out there and say that Josh's MTOs are VERY good value for money.

He is only limited by how many he can do.

Thanks Guys. Well things of pleasure as with most things follow the law of diminishing returns as they increase in cost and there is a sweet spot which we will try to hit (best bang for the money).

I am just casually asking if you have 2k to spend do you buy 2 or 3 more AM or try to hantam a MTO with Josh. Just wanted what will you do. Ya I have more shoes then I need and I think I may know what I will do :s13:

@TM, your views, insights and comments are always welcome and has provided me great pleasure in this shoe game. I have learnt a lot here and SF. Your obsession with quality and value is indeed remarkable fuelled only possible by passion or addiction  thumbs up!

How much are the MTOs?

Have you gotten any pairs yourself yet? :s13:

Wiz,
Thank you for the kind words. To be quite honest, I'm happiest when I'm reading / talking / sharing about shoes. Especially within a positive environment. Sometimes, it's just too difficult to engage in any form of proper discussion on SF. But if you've found any of my posts helpful, then I'm really glad.

Spence,
Yes, I have, I have an MTO pending with him. But he's got a backlog and a sh**load of work to clear, so I told him to chuck my order to the back. The business comes first after all.
MTOs are 2200. Trees included. Cheaper than Deco line. And much, much, better.
