Just came back from Carmina at the Capitol. There is some bulk purchase discount going on. Buy 1 pair and can buy the second pair at 10% disount kind. Can go up to 20% discount if I didn't hear wrongly.

Handwelt is very labor intensive and require skill artisans to do the right job thus cost more $$.
I am not sure it's the best way of making shoe or makes the best shoe.
What is the definition of best shoe?

Top construction. Top Leather. Top last styling. Top handwork.

In terms of construction quality, handwelt is the undisputed best.

You need a quality thick tight grain leather to carve the holdfast. You cannot compromise on that. (yes DW's shitty synthetic insole is compromising)

Next will be Blake Rapid. Two solid leather pieces stitched against each other. But you have the insole stitch (blake) aloft.

Then you have goodyear welt. Nothing much to say, the pictures and leather grain tightness speaks for themselves

I dont mind price. But can recommend where to get the best shoe? Any shop to intro?
