Carlos Santos. :o
If u look very closely, u can see it is double stitching storm welt. However it is not a true norvogese welt.

Well, a storm welt is essentially goodyear welting on a "modified welt", it's very different from a Norvegese.
Anyway, I like those boots.

Am sorry, all my pairs so far have been MTM so I am not sure how his standard lasts fit.
I had to email him as well, for sizing advice (though he already has all my measurements).
I do have in incoming pair on the soft square last though. I only modified the instep on that one.

Icic.. How about for EG and G&G then?

Sharing AM's reply to the thread in Reddit where I was talking about his construction.

You are correct. Our method is not cut and turn. The inner "flap" is where an incision is cut at an angle, and this is where the needle enters. After stitching this 'flap' is closed over the stitches. The welting stitch goes through and exits the exterior feather like a handwelted shoe. The big problems with cut and turn is that you bend the flaps 90 degrees weakening the fibres. Also, the 'wall that is created makes the insole less flexible than those for a handwelted sole. It is like attaching a T bar around the circumference. The Weston method adds linen reinforcement to prevent breakage. Our method is much closer to a traditionally prepared insole for handwelting and avoids the problems of cut and turn. Thank you all for the nice words. Meccariello Shoes.

Frankly if he can do this, no reason why most of the higher priced "haute" brands not, G&G, JL RTW etc.

Well, I've long felt that many of the "high end" English and French makers put out a completely crap product for their price.
The worst of the lot is the deco line.
Antonio's idea of a machine welted shoe but on a one-piece insole represents his commitment to making good quality shoes. Even though factory made.
I've always and will continue to be his supporter.

Hey I recently got my first pair of Loake shoes as well, so just wanna share.

Yes, you can try it out at Robinson's - but only the big store at Somerset/Orchard would stock Loake. Try to find another pair of shoes made in the Capital last to try. Heard that Metro at Centrepoint also carry Loake but I'm not 100% sure.

Herringshoes and Robinson's Shoes (different from the departmental store) are both highly recommended in this thread. Depending on whether you need the shoes urgently, you might wish to wait for a sale which can go as high as 20% sometimes. Can also look out to see whether the Aldwych appears in the clearance section - that's how I got my Loake Strands for £120.

Hey many thanks for this response to my queries! i would be heading to Robinson's at JEM (convenience) if it wasnt for your reply.

Judging by replies i guess i will be either ordering from Pediwear or Robinson's shoes website instead of Herring. Unfortunately, Aldwych is not on sale currently and i need the shoes quite urgently.

Excited to own my first pair just like u!

Herring charges for shipping, so you should also look at Pediwear (you can choose free shipping or free shoe trees) or Robinson's shoes (the website). Pediwear goes on sale once a year, Robinson's a bit more often.

Unless you buy Herring-branded shoes—Herring Mayfair is made by Barker, Knightsbridge by Loake (026 last) so you can try on at the places the other posters suggested—there are 10% off/free shoe tree codes online.

Hey! after your reply i will be looking at pediwear or robinson's shoes!

Thank you for advice!

Carmina Singapore

Does anyone know if Carmina still covers import tax and includes a free shoe tree?
