Part of the nonsense i spout each day.

Haha. While I do not have statistics, I do believe flying business class probably gives one a higher chance to hook up with an air stewardess than in economy class, all else equal.

But I digress. My vote for versatile (dress) shoes for travel would go to brown calf penny loafers, especially if it's a business trip!

How would you guys find chukka boots for travelling? I prefer them as they are shorter and not too difficult to do or undo. Travelling around with loafers is a bit more limited, such as with the outdoors.

For long haul flights, its better to wear something loose/comfy, so you should bring another pair of shoes, esp if you are one of those that take off shoes on the plane.

For clearing customs, it doesn't really matter what shoes you wear as long as you can take them off/ put them on fast. Some people can wear shoes with laces real loose and just slip them off and on.

The best case will always be bringing another pair for daily use overseas, and wear a pair purely for flights.:s12:

hows carlos santos shoes compared to loake or meermin?

In terms of sizing, need to up/down size from loake capital last?

Never tried them or seen them in real life yet but from the pics they look pretty good for starting out.

I have a pair made OEM by Carlos Santos for this French maker Markowski.
The shoes are decent for what they cost. Leather / finishing is average but value wise pretty good. Have seen some pretty good Loakes and have owned a pair as well.
Meermin, well, probably the worst of the lot. Albeit closed channel soles.

For that price point, why not consider Yanko? I am not expert but i think is very decent and have more variety than loake thou loake is good as well.
