Metal-toe / JR soles / initials / nailing ?

I was sitting on the inca last too.. inca suede wholecuts in either brown or snuff. Slept over it and decided to get them in the morning, until the mobile browser blocked me out #notmeanttobe

Gurus of this thread, i have an enquiry. I am looking for a maroon color leather shoe to match with a maroon belt.

Belt i already have, its a reversible one. Any idea where to get that color's shoe? I suppose only MTO is possible huh. Seldom see off the shelf having such colored shoes.

You don't get to do individual MTO with no upcharge. You will kick yourself later for trying to save that 30 Eur or something.

True that.

I went with Inca for my DM and was charged more. But I comforted myself with the thought that this is a good price for MTO and I love the Inca look too much. So bro @Drifting2Anchorage, do what we like to enjoy the shoes. After all, it's still discounted LOL!

Guys to replace the rubber soles, how would the cobbler do it? Just still another piece of rubber on top and filled up the worn heel with some black stuffs? Or cut away the rubber and put new one?

And secondly the rubber side at the ankle, that piece also loose liao... can it be replaced?

The reason why there's a bit of a premium for Inca lasted shoes is that they feature a tapered heel that's slightly more close cut and apparently a different, more flexible welt.

Thanks TM for the info. I do love how the Inca last looks. Only thing is to get the sizing right.

hahas.. I considered that as money saved.. anyway black Friday sales will be kicking in real soon at the end of this month.

Carmina MTO aside, Vass MTO is actually quite affordable if you are able to get them direct, at least thats the case for me, by skipping all the different types of "proxy" services available in SG. Handwelted with semi lasted shoetrees, metal toe-taps, JR soles by topping up about 100 euros more.. I consider them value for money at the price bracket in comparison to other makers in this price range though some might not agree with me:s13:

hehh guys....thanks for your advice. till i checked out mrporter.com which Daniel.Y has so kindly shared in an earlier post did i realise my ignorance and perhaps sad lack of knowledge in shoes.

and all this while i was wondering why u all were so against me wearing WHITE loafers.:s11:

the correct term i should use should be DRIVING SHOES. DRIVING SHOES! Paiseh guys.

I was originally looking for slip on, laceless driving shoes in different colours of which one must be white.
The correct term is moccasin. Driving Shoes is a type of moccasin with a specific sole.

If comparing colour codes (sRGB)

Maroon : 128,0,0
Oxblood : 128, 0, 32
Burgundy : 144, 0, 32

I would say Oxblood is the closest match, provided your Maroon is indeed Maroon. I won't be surprised your Maroon turns out to be Burgundy.

Oxblood and Burgundy are standard (though not common) shoes colours.

Lol... this I way too technical.... haha...

Anyway I would think it would be a cheaper option to get the belt to match the shoe rather than the other way round, considering how much the shoes we talk about in this thread cost.

Actually.....
TBH I feel the colour matching does not need to be very very precise.
Burgundy in general would be a good match for most shades of reddish shoes, so it's a fairly safe bet.

Occupational hazard ... I engineer. :D

Share a colour joke ... At work we had to repaint something green as part of a refurbishment work. After painting, boss commented:

"This green is too green". :s13:

FYI. Apparently the carmina code is still working. Just tried it minutes ago.

So those who still want to enjoy the discount, better do so soon.
