It is beautiful. But GF prices are high when shipping from the US. My first Carmina is from them.

I stumbled upon a loake 1880 buckingham during my jubilee weekend staycation at Metro Centrepoint at 50%. retail price was 599 if I not wrong. they still had uk size 8.0, but it was just a bit too big for me! grab it bros :s12::s12::s12::s12::s12:

Guess u mean u had a staycation at a hotel in the orchard vicinity rather than at metro centrepoint? :s13:

The mark-up is really steep.. Last i recalled loake 1880s were going for $499 from Robinsons, but to be fair, Loake did have a price revision over the last 2 years.

Those people who appreciate these shoes are very likely people who also know how much less they could be gotten for off the internet so the shoes invariably end up going on sale after a certain shelf life. I've bought a pair of barkers myself at 50% off $499 from Robinsons, which imho is not a bad price at all for slightly superior to Loake 1880s quality shoes again imho).

It's a shame that they are in UK 8. I'm a UK9.5 myself and just fot a pair in Dark Brown from Robinsons Shoes for nearly $400.

Has ed et al rolled out its sixth collection? Anyone had an opportunity to take a look at them in person yet and comment upon its quality?

Fully sold out according to their website but not sure if samples available at the physical store. They are priced similarly to the previous rtw collections so i am not hopeful on improved quality especially when u consider their new pricing for bespoke/semi-bespoke.

Any substitute for leather conditioner and cleaner?

Hi folks...

I just finished my Allen Edmond's leather conditioner cleaner. Shipping cost is very expensive. Wondering if there are any good substitute for that product which is available in Singapore? Appreciate the help!!

I agree GF is kinda pricey, even w/o the shipping. I'm also keen on this pair from Skotie, but It doesn't has UK7.

Ha. Yeah that's right. After discount would be 300, that's cheaper than what you normally buy from herring or pediwear. We are in Singapore afterall, land of markup.

For my feet, loake 1880 not as comfortable, could be due to the Asian meatless feet genes.

I am still torn between Loake 1880 (Aldwych) which costs $400 or Loake Design (Abberline) which costs $280. Both are calf leather GYW but Abberline is Made in India.

Do u guys use shoe tree? Which ones did u all get?

1880 if you can afford it! shoe trees are a must.

i intend to get 2 pairs sooner or later. But i want to buy 1 pair to try out first, so probably get the cheaper one. WIll rotate it with my soon-to-be-dumped Rad Russell and then will get another pair of either Barker or Meermin.

So any shoe tree will do?

saw this on Amazon . Can buy?

I got mine here:

http://aqatelier.bigcartel.com

I think it's best to get one with a better heel shape. The one in your link could put undue pressure on the back of the shoe.

Also if you need to ID a Loake shoe go to their website and search. If it's not there you probably cant buy it either.

Google is a wondrous tool and should be your bestest friend in the whole world wide web.

Oh yes. Shoes trees are definitely needed. When I removed them from my shoes I could definitely smell the nice cedar wood smell, and of course it keeps the shoes in shape. Perhaps you should go check out loake at orchard Robinsons to see what you really like. The metro centrepoint deal for loake 1880 Buckingham is really good if you are UK size 8, hopefully the 50% is still in effect.

If there is no urgency, wait for sales or discount codes from pediwear, herring, robinsons shoes (the online one) etc.

The sales/discount codes are not infrequent and could bring down your cost for a pair of Aldwych closer to $300.

Good luck!

I would recommend getting the aldwych. Recently bought one, totally no regrets !
