Lol.. Ed might reconsider changing leathers in order to maintain his signature creases if this goes on.....

Haha. Any self-respecting shoemaker would want to get rid of such a signature/reputation than to perpetuate it!

I have creases on Carminas as well. It is a fit issue as well as quality of leather.

I don't have that much creases on my cheaper Herrings.

Hi guys, I've contacted P Lal and was told that they do ship to Singapore at a cost of RM100. A typical 1880 will cost around 1085RM or 336 SGD, inclusive of shipping, which is pretty affordable IMO.

No returns/exchanges though so that's the only thing that's stopping me from purchasing from them. :s22:

The website doesn't look v professional so I'd be a little concern about messed up orders or dodgy postal services as well..

But it's a really good deal!

Burgundy Cordovan DM GMTO on Carmina Website.... Damn swee..

On another note: just received email from Carmina SG that my MTO shoe is coming in via Fedex soon. Left spain already. They only took slightly more than 1 month, with summer holidays in between... maybe ordering via Carmina SG got priority queue.

You gotta email them to order so messing up the orders is quite unlikely I suppose but YMMV.

Here's what they responded me, for those who are interested. :)

Guys do u paste a rubber sole and heel over your new shoes? So at least when it is worn out can just replace it?

However i read the Loake website and it says preferably not to

Back in the days where C&J still supplied them, they were about the cheapest source to buy C&J shoes n lots of SF folks from US ordered from them. So i don't think you should be too concerned over the reliabilty of the delivery services.

All shoemakers would categorically advise not to do that. There are lots of literature/discussions/arguments, including on this thread, on the merits and demerits of "topy". Do take a read and make an informed decision of your own! Good luck

Most people will say no.
But if you think you will throw the shoes away after this round of 'patch', then i think it is probably ok. Not many of us re-sole our shoes.

Some of us have enough shoes in rotation, that re-sole seems very distant.
