Just a quick heads up.
Loake 1880 Strand on 25% flash sale (24 hours only) at Robinsons Shoes. 134 UK Pound after discount and deduct VAT.

Must apply code (flash2) at checkout.

Sent from Workday using GAGT

damn why is it only for the strand. Do sales more than 25% pop up often in your experience?? And how do you get such codes?? Can't find it on the site or their Facebook

Yeah like the rest has mentioned, normally around 15-20% discount, the 25% is probably just for 1 day flash sale kind. Do sign up for notifications to get codes for special deals.

Normally got 20% discount is can buy already.

Sometimes got more than 25% but is for clearance, like limited sizes and models, but don't bet on those though.

BTW, today flash sale is Barker McClean model, any color also can.
125 UK Pound after discount and vat deduction. "Flash3" code.

Robinson Shoes normal is 15-20% discount.

Colonial cream and wax I guess?

I'm not sure how is loake wax though.

Most people will recommend saphir, I using both saphir and colonial.

am thinking of getting a pair of carmina double monks in navy.

should i do calf leather (high 6xx SGD inc shoe trees)
or cordovan (high 10xx SGD inc shoe trees)?

or should i consider another brand? am quite set on navy double monks, but open to hearing other options. no lace-ups for me pls. thanks!

Which last u are looking at (not that u really have much choice for RTW)?

My 2 cents would be to go with the cordovan. That's carmina's specialty and avail exclusive to carmina, so if u r paying that money, at least u know u can't get elsewhere.

Alternatively, can consider vass. At the carmina pricepoints, maybe possible to mto calf and cordovan versions respectively if u chose the right path to vass..

Thanks! Seems like they are only avail in Inca last. I am leaning towards calf as the price is significantly lower, and it seems like cordovan is too warm for warm climate like singapore. anyone has experience with cordovan shoes?

carmina seems a lot sleeker than vass. not sure if it makes sense to go for vass than carmina

U can research more on vass 'italian' lasts. They should meet your sleek preference.

The U Lasts?

F, U and K are their italian lasts. F last may not come across as sleek to some, but those who find U and K lasts not sleek prob need elves shoes.

Now vass just needs a C last to complete the collection.....

Vass Cordovan colours quite limited I think. The usual safe basics like No. 8, black, dark cognac

Doubt they'll have exotic colours like Number 2, 4, 6 or Navy, which Carmina has aplenty

Still no harm asking.
