Next time before you bring them out for a test spin, wear them at home for a few hours each day. You can go about your other stuff like using the com etc. Doing stuff like calf raises (lol) or just walking about the house in your shoes will break them in faster. At least it did for a good number of my pairs (esp meermin those are like rocks)

Damm good buy. Which range of GC are they?

Nothing a little brush buffing and cream wont solve

How was the store flogging off their seconds? Some sale or just a seconds corner

Benchmade
Their shop display is small with some items on sale mixed together with seconds, but the pricing is all over.
They seemed to be more popular with the bespoke crowd in the day I went though.

wah piang ... u all break in GYW shoes like breaking in Redwings boots!

That's why I appreciate the Loake 1880 range. The calf leather are quite soft to break in.
At first I tried thin business socks = wah shag hard feet pain.
Then tried army black socks = hmm much better.
1 week later tried darn tough full cushion socks = shiok ah!

Never look back after that, 3 pairs of darn tough full cushion can use for 1 week office work with daily rotation.

(BTW, I do own a RW 875 lol!)

Wah...Loake 1880 is soft, means I cannot imagine other brands shoes breaking in period.

Guys, wanna ask if Oxfords are too formal for work wear. Like long sleeve shirt and trousers with them.

You never try the grandmother's method to break in the shoes ...

Bite them hard first so that they don't bite u back ...

Look what the mail man dropped off today!

Took them out for a spin during lunch. Uppers are soft, virtually close to no breaking in required. The size is a tad big for me, with some heel slip which I think will get worse after breaking in. I think a half size smaller would have been perfect for me.

Guess I'll need some tongue pads. Anyone knows where to get these locally?

Yanko shoes seem to run a little larger than most of their counterparts.

Suede will indefinitely stretch more and easily. Have you tried paying Guardian store a visit?

No, but I'll be sure take a look after work today. Thanks!

Googled but there wasn't much talk about where exactly tongue pads can be purchased locally.

i also received something today! :D

personal feel, i think cheaney is overpriced. the burnishing quite inconsistent; felt like someone wore it before, probably in the retail shop.

Hmm, interesting choice of color there...... I think the socks look ok, don't worry. A little polishing up would definitely make it look rock'in.
The instep seems a little too low though.

haha, fell in love when I saw it on IG. you are right on the color. now wondering how to match it. lol.

and, ya. this 205 last instep is quite low. I compared it with the shoes I wearing today (inca last). lower onestep than inca and elongated.

I think the shoes would look better if they were lace such that the laces directly resting on the tongue were hidden. But that's my ocd speaking :D

haha. a good start to 2016. but that's enough for now. just waiting for my last pair of shoes, gmto carmina spilt toe.

Wah wah everyone's loots coming in :s13:

Also wearing my newly finished pair of George Boots to work :s12:

This is hard.

Most places here only sell the heel pad.

Had to ship mine in from USA... :(

haha, i know what you meant. I prefer that too, but that's the max i can go. :s13:

I'm holding off on anymore shoes for the rest of the year. Hopefully I can resist temptation and store enough ammo to go for Antonio... (I hope :s13:)
