Just asking for advice, is this normal for the start of 2nd wear? The creases/dry lines lookalike at the toe cap? The vamp area is normal since it happens on my Strand too.

Well it can happen and could be mainly due to how you flex your feet when you walk. More flex=more creases

If you have relatively shorter toes vis-a-vis the toe cap line it will tend to form a crease on the cap area although the stitches on the toe box is supposed to prevent that.

If there is any comfort, I also suffer this problem for some of my shoes!:s13::s13::s13:

But my strand is the same exact last (capital) and size (uk8) as this shoe (cannon), so just very curious haha.

Same size but fits same? Are they shoes snug or a little loose?

If your buckling is looser than lacing, n shoes are not snug, u may find your toes higher up the toe box possibly causing this issue.

Just a thought.

Are you concerned about there being a crease there or that it looks dry?

I'm not worried about the crease, more concerned whether it is a sign of damaged leather? Since this is technically 2nd wear, and the previously color drop issue on leather. (When I'm only doing cream and wax polishing)

For info, Robinsons shoes agreed on free return due to faulty goods (previously on the color drop issue after using neutral color cream and wax polishing). But I told them I solved the issue at the moment using brown color cream and wax, but not sure whether that issue will happen again if I polish again. I told them I'm ok to keep this pair if next to polishing session no such fault came out, but if it does happen they are ok for me to send back to them too.

And the current concern of the signs of (maybe?) dry or damaged is real, I would like to send back.

So asking for shoe experts here haha! Thanks!

If the leather is dry I don't think it's a manufacturing defect either. Use less wax polish, get leather conditioner?

Nicely done! Don't forget that it will turn a shade darker after applying cream/conditioner and wax.

It has already been applied with cream and conditioner. It is quite light in color prior to applying and that is my intent in the first place.

Hey Alvin. How's the quality of yanko's leather/construction? Which brand would u say it would be comparable to? Thanks!

I will say close to Carmina and comparable to Alfred Sargent benchgrade for the leather quality and construction having handled both natural crust and their color dyed leather...

Ah, good work then! It's awesome! How many layers of cream and conditioner did you apply? Which products did you use?

I think you're seeing those lines because you polished that area prior to it getting creases. Might be just the wax cracking up.

RTW wise you're prolly hard pressed to find. Most of these runs are small special batches, not regular production.

Best is to MTO

Thanks! They are one of a few makers that do RTW side swept single monk shoes, of which most are fairly high-end. Seems like Yanko may be a reasonable value option.

Hey guys what brands other than loake1880,eea and llyr would be great for a spare pair of shoes for the rainy days and to thrash around. Thanks.
