Mine is wide as well but will recommend to try in store..

I have another suede Oxford 915 on the same size as well. So I will think Yanko sizes are “smaller”
I can go down 1 size for 955 G last so 0.5 is probably ok

Hey guys,

Made an account just to ask a few questions. Been looking to get a pair of business casual appropriate dress shoe for work. Saw a shop called Marx B at VivoCity. Turns out its a local Singaporean brand. Does anyone have experience with this brand? I tried looking it up on prior shoe threads but could not find anything about it.

They have two lines.

Premium Line - $489 GYW or handwelted maybe? Made in Japan
Regular Line - $229? Otherwise don't know too much about it.

Primarily more interested in the premium line but may consider purchasing 2 regular line shoes so I can rotate since I currently do not have any dress shoes.

Thanks so much!

Their shoes are made in VN iirc, used to own several pairs from them but dont really last long, I would put them on par with Pedro but with nicer details for the regular line and havent tried their GYW selection.

Separately, one of the original co-founder "B" in the MarxB left the partnership and created another store called "Bern" at Suntec near Cotton On, selection seems quite similar to the original brand.

As most have shared, for the price points you mentioned on the GYW range there are more value-for-money brands to consider.

Hi guys

I suspect my loakes need to resole as I can feel a bit of dampness when i wear the shoes. Understand that Ed dont do GYW repair for outside brands now. Enquired with Mason and they quoted $380 upwards which is almost close to the price of a new lokes.

Any suggested solutions from the seasoned bros here?

Can consider shipping back to loake for resole. Did it before for 80gbp inclusive of shipping back to sg. Cost of shipping there is around 50 dollars, but if you have a friend going to UK, they give you a label to ship for free

Hi all,
Looking for some recommendations on black toecap oxfords.

I measure a 10E (US) on the brannock, and currently wearing a pair of Ed At Al 'City Hall' but they look so damn long on me, almost like Ronald Macdonald shoes.

Thinking of getting a pair of Allen Edmonds Park Avenue with Dainite Soles, but not too sure on the sizing.

Any advice on the Allen Edmonds, or recommendations for oxfords that don't look long, greatly appreciated.

Hi there, I have to ask why are you looking specifically at AE? I think there are better choices locally which are more accessible.

Check out Colony Clothing, I recall they bring in AE and Alden

Hi, thanks for the recommendation on Colony Clothing, will check them out.

Specifically looking for a pair with rubber soles and option for E width, reason being have to be on my feet most of the time. Which of the other locally available options should i look for?

An example of danite sole available locally, can try asking about for a wider option. What I usually do is topy those with leather sole to widen the possibilities.

EEA having sample sale @ the guild (Raffles city) till sun. Got a pair of lion and the star at $100. This pair should be Blake stitched. Can't complain much I guess for a $100 Blake stitched shoe. But they didnt even provide paper bag :/

Interesting Qn. Many other factors that would need to be considered. E.g. the amount of walking & types of surfaces involved, wet weather, shoe care regime.

I would think anything beyond 2-3 years is considered impressive. And I am only referring to the uppers and not the soles.

Looking for a pair of comfortable daily beaters with a $500 budget. Nothing over the top. Brogue or Oxford. Anything to recommend? Preferably with a brick and motar shop so that I can try before purchasing.
