Hi all, currently a uni student starting my internship soon. What's the best 1st pair of working shoe I should get? Best as in most versatile. Should I get black or brown? Also I'm looking to get a pair from Arden teal, are they worth it or should i just get from the typical pedro/aldo

I think, most importantly, I would:

1) Work within my budget.
2) Get a pair that fits me best within that budget. So it would be important to be able to try them on.

I think for starters, a pair of minimally (to non) brogued brown captoe oxfords would be a safe choice.

So brown over black? A darker brown would be more formal right?

Are wingtip brogues suitable for daily office wear in the financial sector or are they not formal enough?

Also could I ask why brown over black?

You could wear black shoes if you wish, they are certainly suitable for office environments. Indeed, a pair of black captoe oxfords might probably be one the first pairs of shoes you buy. Brown shoes are just simply more versatile, and a pair of dark brown oxfords can see a lot of use and be paired with more trouser colours. And are equally suitable in office environments.

Pertaining to wingtip brogues, they are on the informal end of the spectrum. But to be honest, most people aren't going to notice anyway. I'd hold that idea and go for a more conservative pair of dark brown captoe oxfords with minimal to no brogueing as a safe choice for a first pair of shoes. You will have time for wingtip brogues 2 to 3 pairs down the road.

Why need to go so far to Europe? Yeossal have many choices at $600. AM, Corno Blu and TLB Mallorca. His sales items are totally value for money. Coupled with good support and integrity, MTL.

He's looking for dress boots so unless Yeossal has stocked them then he can support local. But as of now Yeossal only stocks TLB Chelsea. So if he's looking for Balmoral boots or derby ones then he has to look elsewhere

I am looking at Carmina shoes on their online shop. Upon selecting Singapore as shipping destination before checkout, the price increases by 20percent.

Has anyone experienced this before?

looks rike China workers making the shoes....nowadays ish made in Italy but by China ?

Japanese apprentices. Nowadays seems quite common for young Japanese men to go apprentice for a few years at age old shoemakers or tailors before returning home to start their own line.

I bypassed that by using VPN set to Spanish IP address. They didn't add the upcharge even when I put the shipping address to Singapore.

No guarantee that it still works though, but worth trying. :s12:

Hi Everyone. Am quite new to nice shoes.

Saw a pair of nice black penny loafers with tassles for $380 at jalan sriwijaya. It had dainite soles.

Was wondering what are the alternatives if my budget is less than $400.

Advanced thanks to the experts here

Thanks for this. Tried using VPN but it didn’t work. I Guess I just have to swallow the upcharge
