hey guys, is zara or beetlebug shoes good enough for a non-exec like me?

You working in what type of environment? Office, kitchen, outdoors?

What is the dress code of the work place?

Shoes must be functional first and foremost.

probably classic line. Meermin is known to take a long time, but well, the price might make up for that.

I waited 7 months for this:

Production stage:

1) It features faux laces and you wear this by slipping your feet in and out of the shoes. There's a disguised elastic gusset to help you with this. It's particularly relevant in the Asian market because there's a cultural norm of taking one's shoes off when one enters the home. This helps facilitate that process.

2) Modeled after the 200-year old Russian Reindeer leather that was dredged up from a ship that sank at sea.

The leather has a unique hatch-grain pattern to it, and has been developed to resemble the pre-Revolutionary Russian reindeer hide that dates back to 1786 that was dredged up from a ship-wreck off the coast of Plymouth Sound.

3) Patinated.

4) Red interior lining.

5) Double leather soles that taper, so they stand a bit more wear.

Shined with a very old tin of Starwax (when SAF was issuing Starwax instead of Kiwi, unfortunately switch back to Kiwi now) left a tiny bit of polish. Need to head up north to restock soon.

It is so easy to build up a shine with Starwax. One thin layer for the entire shoe and 2 build up layer on the toecap. Finish with breathe and nylon stocking.

One of the toecap got a bit of scratch so no matter how I shine will not be as nice as the other shoe.
