I gave up on pointing out vague questions long ago. So now, I shall be nice and answer questions exactly according to the way they are phrased. :):)

To add on to shoe recommendations... Bata, Charles and Keith, heatwave, Allen Edmonds, Aldo, easy spirit, Trickers, hush puppies.

Hi all, I'm looking at about 100 sgd per pair. Young student abt to enter workforce. Any brands i should look into? Currently have a pair from aldo.

To add on to the bata recommendation, try the ambassador range. Not sure about quality, but you may want to look at crocodile shoes at John little. Crocodile brand, not crocodile skin.

Try Stacey Adam, Nunn Bush, Bass, Steve Madden or Bostonian
Can buy from Amazon

Much better from those crap sold locally, cheaper as well

I would advice to top up abit to get some Dr Martens Derby, Clarks, Benjamin Barker has some pretty good looking shoes as well, cannot vouch for quality tho.

I am inclined to agree that buying online is cheaper. However, there is the problem of getting the size wrong. This is partly solved by helpful forumers who can share their fit experiences. Unfortunately, for the brands within the price range stated, I doubt you can get much help online with regards to sizing. In addition, sizing will be all over the place if the shoe models do not use standardised lasts within the brand. So my 2 cents is that one should stick to what is available locally for that price range.

Do a bit of research and try your luck, it is worth the risk

I bought more than 10 pairs online over the last few years, only 2 were too tight

Given the savings I made on the other pairs, even if writing off the 2 duds , I still came out ahead,

Those brands I mentioned are the US$40-60 range that I wear daily for work, 6-9 months then throw. These shoes are comparable to the $100-180 range in Aldo, Clark's or Rockport you find locally

I have gotton Johnston and Murphy for US$ 99 when taka was retailing for S$400
I have bought Frye boots fot US $150 during a clearance sale, not available locally but HK$3,999 in Hong Kong

You get my drift, the choice is yours

I just want boring black captoe oxford.

Meermin I know the size already cuz not first time and they can put steel toe.

Edetal can try sizing locally but no steel toe have to use rubber.

Arbo wait till AE RDA sales buy park avenue but also no stell toe, and wait so long later I see other designs swee I buy > 1 pair.

I really don't want to search online later I see all the show porn swee then my wallet suffer again.

Aiya then mid year i going Europe should I go Europe buy.

Itchy and pain at same time.

Sigh. Saturday blues.
