Those people you face off with, I'll be surprised if they blow money on shoes or watches or accessories. Maybe the women but that's another discussion.

The bankers I'm talking abt are those have to brand themselves accordingly to their clientele. Definitely not you since you don't appear to be aware of their existence.

orh.. the highend bankers ah... ofcos they are a different class. Top class people will need to dress up becos of the occupation needs. I wasnt thinking of those private bankers. Oops, sorry. No, im not of same category. Im just a normal office boy 9-5 job & too much time to babble here. People i face off with, you are right, mostly women. Soory huh, just treat that im shooting rubbish here if you didnt like what you are seeing. Or maybe i will just comment lesser since im no expert in grooming. Hmm in fact maybe im just some ignorant guy having very bad taste. :o Please forgive me. Maybe you can teach me or give a pointer or two? TIA

ok la dont shoot a newbie like me. I just never liked bank people. Frankly, when i go to a bank as a customer, i never get to see their shoes or watches. The most noticeable thing is their cocky faces. You can say that im naive in a way. :s13:

A bank's operations is not just limited to selling you products.

Slapping yourself and then trying to make it look like the slap was intentional

As far as I know, nothing. Seriously.

You'd be suprised to find out that Gucci horsebit loafers/moccassins are pretty decent.

You pay a premium for the label name but can't deny that it is pretty good though not the best value your money can get you.

Unfortunately, successful people are attracted to deal with those who have some kind of common factors in them. Some decide whether to deal with you or not just because you dress well, wear expensive watches or drive continental cars. It gives them more confidence to deal with u as it fosters a sense of credibility and also gives the impression that you are successful and or have a wide network. Its the same everywhere.

It is a cruel materialistic world where image counts, unless you already have a solid reputation and track record that precedes you. Even relatives and friends judge you that way also. Thats why so many people are willing to pay more for globally recognized brands even if they arent the best quality. In fact as many brands expand and garner reputation, they start to cut corners as they ramp up production. Alot of Italian brands are like these nowadays and even their diffusion lines ride on the name of the mother brand.

Thanks. If i ever i had a chance, i will try to make life difficult for people working in banks.

Most likely, when you make life difficult for bankers, what you are doing is that you are causing trouble to those who are innocent, the overworked and underpaid support staff and the back end rather than those arrogant ones who dress well, talk kok, practise tai chi and do deals.

hmmm what i meant is that if one day i ever have the chance to make it really successful, i try to remember about what was being discussed today & make life difficult for those arrogantly well-dressed sweet talkers. But i highly doubt i would remember by that time most likely my memory will be failing me & too old to make a fuss.

wahahaha. thanks for your affirmation. LV, Gucci none seems good. How about the rest? Prada, Hugo Boss, Armani....

I only know Armani makes decent clothes. People are bitching about Prada buying over Church's, so maybe that says something about Prada. No idea about the rest.

Why don't you just get a compromise between what you like and what you need? No point comparing with the others as they are more self-absorbed anyway.

that was the point i was trying to make. many of us who are into watches know what skagen is. seriously branded or no branded it depends on individual wat. i can also bluntly say skagen is branded. i know a lot more unbranded watches as compared to skagen....

:s22::s22:

It is true that it depends on the individual. But then again, a layman is more likely to have heard of Gucci or Armani watches than Skagen watches. The main thing is that true watch companies offer watch-related product benefits, predominantly fashion labels just offer a brand image. How can Skagen be selling a brand image when the layman don't know the brand?

Anyway, back to shoes.

I just wanna say I really think Bata and Hush Puppies give the best bang for buck, at least in Singapore. Brand name sucks, but the quality does not suck as much as the brand image IMO.

Please avoid Pedro. Cheers.

I dunno abt HP but Pedro sucks to high heavens.

I think Bata is good for that price. $500 can buy 4 pairs which will last you 4-5 years.

I thought Church already belonged to Prada?

Another good shoe brand would be Berluti. But that cost like heavenly sums of money. :s22:

Berluti is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo expensive, man.

I'm gonna repeat this in all my posts. Any recommendations for insoles for large shoes?

Advise needed:

Current pair of shoes has lots of wrinkles, probably due to over wearing for the last 3 years. I don't swap shoes around and rarely use a show tree (too lazy to slot it in).

Is there a way to de-wrinkle it or really have to get a new pair?

No idea about the insoles, what size are you referring to?

Have you seen the petina for Berluti? They are damn gorgeous!

Unfortunately they don't do MTM in SG, gotta go China for that.
