Anyone use the website http://www.herringshoes.co.uk/index.php before?

Can someone explain whats the difference between black polished and black calf? I had read the help from the website but still not clear :(

Will I be able to polish the black calf leather using shoe polish to attain a similar shine as black polished? Can I use shoe polish to polish the black polished leather shoe? Assuming I am using KIWI shoe polish for both.
Is black polished similar to patent leather?

For the size and fit, how do I measure my fit? is there a chart that shows what width belongs to which category?

The main difference between calf and polished is that the polished has nice shine to the leather, however the calf I feel is a softer leather.

You can polished the calf leather but it will never be as polished as the polished version.

The width fitting is a little more difficult, if you can buy and wear a standard shoe from the shoes shop then i would say you are fitting.

hi,

i'm actually interested in getting a pair of shoes from the herring website. but i'm quite concerned about shoe sizes and hope that you can advise me on that.

i currently wear a size 11 (uk) running shoes. so is it safe for me to go 0.5 size down for a business shoe?

i have ecco shoes too, but i realise that their sizes don't seem to follow the european standards too.

i've read a couple of sites that suggested measuring foot-length instead. is this a better solution?

Go measure ur feet size. There are many sports shop (eg timberland) that have the device for u to DIY measure. Once u know your feet length and width is US dimension, convert them to UK size.

For example, I wear US 11.5 running shoes but my feet physically measured US 10E. Buying from herring, ideally it should be UK 9.5G. However, the model I wanted only comes in F width, which is still quite ok (heng ah!)

If you have friends in US or just use Globeshopper, buy from Aldo. SG Aldo is way overpriced. Sale shoes start from 40 USD onwards.

Went to Robinson just now. Loake is 15% discount for Robinson OCBC card holder and
10% for others bank till this Sunday.Unfortunately they do not bring in
Loake 1880. I tried Loake Comfort Severn ($359 b4 discount)at my regular size at
7F, but unable to fit me only 7.5G is fitting me.Wondering if I order
1880 online, what size should I order? :s11:
Anyone can share or PM me what is the promotion code for Loake shoes online? I only able
to get the promotion code for ordering Herring own brand of shoes at £150 with free shoes trees (£45).

7.5G.......

The Loake Severn shoe is made on 026 Last , base on the cutting foot shapes is fitting me.
But cant find any 1880 is made on 026 Last, only Herring shoes handmade by Loake are made on 026 last likes Hampsteak,Richmond & Knightsbridge. If I order these model with the promotion code I can get free of shoes trees, but not sure how is the shoes quality?:s12:
Safe to order 7.5G if don't consider the shoes Last ? :s11:
