Saphir Renovateur ?
Its a cleaner / conditioner based on mink oil which provides nourishment to the leather.

(but i'm biased, i'm trying to sell excess bottles, PM me if interested, feel free to read the reviews here on the product or on styleforum. Got some folks that bought from me who have been using on their shoes (even vintage RW boots) and leather products)

If looking for just cleaning alone, I would use Saphir Renomat. Good for stripping off all the old waxes and dirt, but it is very harsh, and only recommended to use every 6 months. On poorer quality leather, there is a possibility that it may strip the finish.

thanks for the information! i go read up abit first then PM chiu again~

Where to get this saphir renomat?

maybe can check with him? :D

Ed Et Al. Because fit is always the number 1 priority, considering you can actually try it on for a perfect fit.

Unless you have experience with the lasts of Cheaney and it being from the imperial collection...I believe Ed Et Al should give you a run for your money.

A home run even.

been a few months since i been down to Ed's... want to try the new Havelock and Istana! :s12:

Hi Guys, currently I'm in Tokyo till 31 Oct.
Saw Cervino shoes at Daimaru and Isetan. Design looks simple which is my preference.
Cost is ¥19,800. Is it worth?

Else, what other brands should i try? Budget between ¥21,000 - ¥25,000.

Any other place to recommend for office shoes?

Thanks in advance.

Many Thanks Gambireu

For your advice. Will take your advice if I do go to the States as unlike you I don't know my AE sizing, if I end up going to Europe I'm bend on getting a pair of Vass while they are Euro390 including shoe horn & shipping to SG as I want to try on all their different last I think I'll need to be in budapest to buy a pair.

For now, I'll have to most prob get a pair of Ed et al Somerset next :)

Hey Martin,

For loafers, I'll definitely get cordovan. That's my next target shoe. Loafers look a little plain and plus with too many creases, it'll look even less formal and less dressy and more sloppy.

I went to the armoury. It's near 中环。I dropped by a year back only because I was in HK for work so I won't suggest going there intentionally as well.

I noticed you asked about AEs. I have friends in the US so at times I will order seconds from the AE shoe bank if I see something I like and get them to send it to me. You can try that if you have friends residing there. Half the price. Nothing wrong with seconds usually

How much was the damage? 2,000? I admit it's a good shoe but 2,000 or anywhere near there is pretty steep. I trust you have other shoes in yr rotation right?

Budapest handmade custom shoes not cheap.. I been there a week shop around. Vaas is well marketed, there are smaller brands in the city, very tiny shop not many sizes, all make to order.

No price diff or freebies for ordering in store vs online though.

Just went there to try the size plus visit relatives.price difference not much. Just slightly cheaper. They have alot cheaneys on sale at 699rm if your size is not 8 to 9 UK size. Ended up buying a imperial grade cheaney during my one hour plus at the shop after trying out five pairs of loake, c& j, barker, cheaney hand grade and bench grade.

Strange, when I went to Plal store, I didn't get a cheaper price for the pair of Loakes I bought.
Sham is very accomodating when it comes to trying on shoes though :)

Quite a good shoe shine video I found today.
I don't use tights though, but use stockings instead.

Looks like Stutton in museum pewter :) Do post a better picture, you are not doing the shoes any justice. Btw, no flat lace?

yup exactly $2,000 after using $150 voucher. my most exp pair of shoes so far. and also my first pair of english shoemakers shoe.

i have like 7 other pairs of dress shoes but are all those designer labels made in italy type like paul smith itself, mcqueen, balenciaga etc
its like making the a jump from cartier/bvlgari to a patek philippe

btw judging by that very few sizes are left for pebble grey and iris purple, seems like they are selling pretty decently despite the price tag. the green one has plenty left though lol.
