Shined with a very old tin of Starwax (when SAF was issuing Starwax instead of Kiwi, unfortunately switch back to Kiwi now) left a tiny bit of polish. Need to head up north to restock soon.

It is so easy to build up a shine with Starwax. One thin layer for the entire shoe and 2 build up layer on the toecap. Finish with breathe and nylon stocking.

One of the toecap got a bit of scratch so no matter how I shine will not be as nice as the other shoe.

Looks nice enough already lah, bro.

Hello, LLYR was launched earlier this year as our answer to the market's lack of nice Ready to wear (rtw) shoes. I co-founded LLYR together with my friends because we stand-by the belief that every men should own a good pair of shoe (we don't mind more ).

Little more about our shoes - all of them are GY welted, italian calfskin upper and lambskin lining, leather outsole with bevelled waist. Other features includes chamfered corners and pitched heels. Some visuals:

Our capsule collection (consisting of 6 models) is currently sold in Tangs Orchard (Mens Department). Inconjuction with the long weekend and National day, TANGS is giving a 15% discount off our shoes, along with other benefits (I think a $48 voucher for a certain amount spent).

I also engaged BDC during the initial prototyping/pre-development prior to our launch. As some of you may know, he is known for his fastidious (aka extremely anal) approach in all things sartorial. Hence he provided inputs/critiques on the technical bits -- lasts, pitching, leather type and finishing.

For mine, I expect it to last 5 years before I have to do anything. Resole is damn ex! I rather just keep topying it for 30 bucks.

For cracks in the upper, just clean and maintain the upper bah. Shoe cream and wax. The uppers are meant to last 15 to 20 years, I presume.

Besides the type of leather, I think the upper longevity will also depend on the design i.e. layers of leather. This is entirely a theory of mine. Wholecut is one layer, so may crack faster and crease more, while full brogue can have many layers. One of my shoes clearly has 3 layers at some areas.

Usually shoes will typically have 3 layers -- the calf upper, the lining and in some areas of the shoes, a separate backer to strength parts of the shoes like the toes (using a toe puff) and areas like the fore-foot and heel.

Thank you! Current batches are made in Vietnam. We are in the midst of developing our second collection, more models and colors, better finishing. I am excited and will definitely post some pictures as soon as I get my hands on them.

Your collection looks good and leather is from good tannery.

For shape of lasts, it would be real great if reference could be made from some of the Japanese makers. Their feet anatomy actually matches ours better than the European makes. But that would be asking too much

Actually for the past months we are working on developing new lasts to suit our asian feets - wide feet, flat foot, short foot etc. We will be coming out with more variety of lasts to better suit our customers. The collection samples are being produced as we speak so they would be out soon.
