Yes, so my point is... if Primaute is $400, it's still reasonable. If it's $600, might as well get the meermin french calf (Eur $230) or top up abit to get the cordovan shoes.

I think I saw Euro 260 for their hand welted series using French leather. Same leather as those from Edetal.

All in, almost S$500. I think $600 is ok to pay for the primaute line after seeing this.

Ok, this is the price calculated by Meermin when you check out cart:

For a €260 item:

Remove VAT = €214.87

Shipping = €35

Net Total = €249.87

So it will cost about S$425 after exchange rate.

Maximum it would cost $450. That's $150 cheaper. You can use the $150 to get the saphir wax polish and brush etc and still got so much loose change for something else.

However, I like the fiddleback from Primaute. And if there's any issue with the shoes, you can always go back to the shoemaker Edwin. That's the biggest advantage buying from Ed at al.

I'm currently 28 years old and I work in an office environment where we are required to dress in formal wear from mon to thurs(no suits or ties required though, just long sleeve shirts, business pants and leather shoes). I'm currently looking at getting this particular model and colour.

Does it seems to "formal" for a normal office environment? Just like to hear some feedback before I make up my mind:o

As a rule of thumb, first pair of office shoes, get a pair of black oxfords.

After that can be more adventurous and get other designs and colours. Brown shoes don't really go well with black pants that most office workers wear.

I think a darker shade of brown also works. I have been wearing dark brown shoes for the last 4 years, no comments from my superiors. Finance sector btw.

U need to buy new grey and blue pants and grey belt.

I've got all those 3 so no worries...but then again my navy pants is a tad too short(tailor was a young guy whose not that traditional haha)

Hmm..really can't match this colour with black pants? Cause the majority of my work pants are black :/

then is ok loh. civil more lax.

Erm also depends, CS so big... Some ministry and dept very anal and rigid dress code. Lighter shade of pants also not allowed.

Some job need to face members of public have to dress down to look like CS practice austerity, some job need to face vip need to dress up to respect the vip status.

Situational and can't one brush stroke the entire CS.

Black is due to your choice or workplace requirement or defacto standards?

Black pants must wear black shoes. The walnut shoes are no-no with black but ok with navy (dun unless part of suit) and light to mid grey.

You can have different styles of black shoes if you seek variety (if die die must wear black pants) for eg monkstrap. Will look formal too.

Dark burgundy/merlot/cordovan works as well :) Could pair with black laces for better effect.
