Renomat is a deep cleaner. Try using that as conditioner alone or worse with wax polish. Confirm will crack in no time.
Renovatuer is general purpose care product. But I find it helps in "healing" the dry cracked leather more than shoe cream. Shoe cream dries up faster. I only use reno on very neglected leather, follow up with cream then wax polish. Well maintained shoes can simply touch up with cream and wax.
Saphir Wax is very drying to leather. Use together with renovateur or cream.
Yup, I understand Renomat is more of a wax/oil stripper for cleaning purpose. I guess putting it as just reno might cause misunderstanding but I really meant Renovatuer and the poster in Styleforum was using Saphir renovatuer as well.
I think the consensus towards the end of the discussion was to use the Renovatuer sparingly (Patrick was using it every other week for his shoes that cracked) and perhaps use some other conditioner/cream polish together with it.
Are you already using the Venetian Shoe Cream? Thought you were trying to pool buy-ins together for a 32oz bottle?
My routine is more of wipe with wet cloth, brush with horse hair, put on reno (not renomat), wax with saphir/dasco/columbus wax once a month. Most of the time is just brush with horse hair brush before and after wearing with shoe trees.
Have 8 pairs for rotation but none of them are above a year yet so I wouldn't know if this is sufficient or not. Will report back
On another note, are any of you guys using this for the current monsoon season?
