Don't think the creases are much to worry about personally. Keep the vamp area well conditioned and enjoy the shoes without thinking too much!

In my own experience, I have a pair of ed's Mountbatten boots. No complaints on the build, but I too have borderline wide feet and I find their lasts to be a bit on the slim side. I checked with their sales guys and the newer collection are all on a similar last, so don't think I will be buying anymore since pinching of the toes isn't fun. I'd recommend English shoes for wider feet since their lasts tend to be more generous. I recently got a pair of Loake Strands and those were comfortable straight out of the box.

Loakes capital last is known to be generous fit for an F but not every english brand are similarly sized as loakes. I own other english brands n need to go up 0.5 size for F fit.

I overpronate but i don't get the diagonal crease on my other shoes.

I have another pair of loakes 1880 actually.. That pair is ok..
Don't see a lot of leather conditioner for softening of leather, you have any good personal recommendation of any brand?

OK, then guess it eliminates possibility of stiffness experienced due to 1st time wearing GY welt shoes.

Many folks on this forum, myself included, use saphir renovateur. I wouldn't say it softens up the leather to the extent you can feel an immediate difference though, at least not in my experience. Maybe u can check with Petia what product is good for softening leather.

Saphir is locally available at edetal and atelier llyr (shared by Petia). Within Taka has a section carrying a wide range of Collonil shoe care products, maybe they carry a product that works.

Pledge furniture polish - the silicon will penentrate the leather fibers and break down the fibers, thus softening the leather.

Spray onto a kitchen towel or rag and wipe over the leather once or twice. Wipe away excess.

Follow up by wearing the shoe for 30mins at home daily. Condition the leather once signs of dryness.

Don't over do it, Pledge will destroy your shoes if used frequently.

Just be warned you are damaging the leather in the process. Same as when you stretch shoes.

Leather will soften on once they're broken in. Why would you want to soften them with chemical?

I have a pair in UK10. It's quite a true to size last for me, with a roomy toebox. UK9.5 would fit me better (same as my Loake Capital last).

For reference, I wear a 45 in edetal and .... US11 for Nike bball shoes.

Leather will soften on once they're broken in. Why would you want to soften them with chemical?

The better quality leather will soften over time. The not too good ones feels like cardboard after years of year.

Once reason I can think of the need of a faster breaking in is army leather boots. The softer the less agony during long marches.

Otherwise suck it up and enjoy the breaking in process

Hmm... that's part of the enjoyment of owning a good pair of shoes together with the slow patina built up instead of faux painted on patina right?

There is a difference between using dyes to enhance the patina effect and painting a new finishing layer that looks like patina effect.

If only works if your army boots are full grain leather. Otherwise Pledge is also useful to give the Armg pvc boots and patent shoes a quick shine.

I think the amount of creasing is ok. Worn it for probably 6-7 times since I bought it. I put shoe trees in them when not worn.
