Don't think the creases are much to worry about personally. Keep the vamp area well conditioned and enjoy the shoes without thinking too much!
In my own experience, I have a pair of ed's Mountbatten boots. No complaints on the build, but I too have borderline wide feet and I find their lasts to be a bit on the slim side. I checked with their sales guys and the newer collection are all on a similar last, so don't think I will be buying anymore since pinching of the toes isn't fun. I'd recommend English shoes for wider feet since their lasts tend to be more generous. I recently got a pair of Loake Strands and those were comfortable straight out of the box.
Loakes capital last is known to be generous fit for an F but not every english brand are similarly sized as loakes. I own other english brands n need to go up 0.5 size for F fit.
