I recalled suggesting Clarks to him and he 'hiam' ugly... For your recommendations I wonder what he will comment.

In any case he has since not further posted so I assume he found something. Do share with us if that's the case and if you are reading this. I have wide feet too in fact, but probably not as extreme as to not be able to fit regular shoes. Cheers!

Just went today in fact. Saw a nice pair of burgundy boots being worked on. I patronise them mainly out of convenience since its near my workplace. Pop over at lunch and pick up in the evening.

Archules shoes : Hmm, not bad for the price, but "premium calf leather" sounds like marketing speak. Im guessing its probably top grain at best...but still for $100 they look like a decent starter option.

Sent an email to them before, said that most of their shoes are full grain and asked me which pair I was specifically talking about.

Hmm always curious what exactly qualifies as museum calf? Is it like brown with some "marbling" (as opposed to an "even" shade of brown)? How museum calf be different from a patina job?

I own neither types. From what I understand, museum calf is of a single colour that looks aged, thus looking lighter in some places and darker in other parts. Essentially, it looks like skin of uneven pigmentation.

On the other hand, a patina seems to be more of a gradient consisting of two or more colours.

Like I said, I own neither and never seen museum calf irl. From the pic, it looks like standard calf to me. Maybe it has something to do with the high shine or the flash. Nice shoes nonetheless.

anyway the MTO i am doing are gold museum and dark brown museum.

Looking at plum or claret museum as some shoe maker called to add a burgundy/oxblood to my collection
