Swagger at Ann Siang Street is having a 20% discount for Atelier llyr shoes. Bought a pair there recently. The shoe tree's quality seems good but is slightly costly at $45 a pair.

I see. Wont be surprised if they plan to keep it that way. Go for high end/margin only. Suspect they woud like to apply quite a markup for carminas to be viable (in which ppl aint gona bite, like SL my fave example), so might as well just ignore that segment altogether.

Adding a $300 markup is much less obscene on a $1200 shoe than on a $500 shoe.

If you consider that they markup G&G by close to 10% only, it's really not that bad.

We have to consider the fact that they incurr GST as well.

I am going by an assumption that mark-up does not work linearly. I.e. just because we see about 10% mark-up on a G&G may not necessarily mean that a carmina mark-up would also be around 10%.

In general, all things equal, margins are higher for larger ticket (luxury) items than lower value items, which is why the relatively lower % mark-up we see for G&G, compared to say price of loakes at robinsons (SGD500 vs GBP209 inclusive of VAT) and SL (SGD600+ vs EUR250-300 inclusive of VAT). Perhaps and let's hope KS are an exception to this.

Margins are lower for luxury goods actually. Bigger brands work with lower coefficients with their distributors.

3rd here. Sian thing why there is nothing for guys like us with smaller feet. I am a 37 too. I did a mto once with edetal, but not cheap to get 2nd pair for rotation lor...
So far I also don't see any brands at all, in store or online. Unfair...

Size 37? That's like a size 5 USA right? Your size is the same as my cousin. I told him to custom make at diamond walker in Singapore after I made a pair there as they can do all sizes of feet.

Price-wise they start their MTM shoes at $550 up. Good value as their leather is very good. My shoes blue saffiano leather have very little creasing and easy to take care and clean. It's my favourite pair of shoes right now. I going back to make a pair of boots once I go again to SG soon after the election is just over here in Indonesia!

hi Guys,

any recommendation for a working formal shoe that don't need much maintenance? Always very lazy to polish/kiwi.. have those type of liquid polish but only polish once a week.

Also need it to be comfortable and last 1-2 years without breaking.
