okay.. so will it get better after 'breaking-in' or do i just have to look for another pair altogether

edit: so i think ill just look for another pair.

I am letting go the Archules - Atlanta model in Dark Oak
Size 41, worn twice, come with the accessories kit and box as well.
Letting go cheap (just wanna recoup some), please do pm me if anyone is keen.

let me know if this is inappropriate and ill remove it. thanks a lot guys.

Ideally u should try buying shoes after some amount of walking and later part of the day. Our feet do expand.

Really depends how bad is the 'pinching' of your toes. The leather will expand over time and might improve the situation, but if its not even bearable then perhaps letting go is better.

yeah i tried it on at night though, guess that few steps of walking wasnt enough for a fair assessment.

the funny thing is that my left feet doesnt have much ache, only the right. perhaps my right is a tad bigger. :s11:

I went to one at Junction 8, somewhere in the basement near the supermarket. Took about 1+ hour as he had other shoes to work on. Price was around $30.

thanks.

i was quote $75 for heel and sole using vibram at mister minit. the new outlet at westgate has a 20% off offer till end of the month.

Something taken off answers.com:

"Typically, right foot is bigger than left foot because your left brain is more developed. One side of the brain controls the other side of the body. If left foot is bigger, that just means right brain is more developed. Left brain controls memory while right brain controls creativity."

While I cannot validate the explanation given, personally my right foot is slightly bigger too.

Sounds overpriced.. Unless it involves overhaul of the heel and not just the vibram

i bought a pair of oxfords recently. when i tried them on, they felt snug and fine. however, after wearing them twice to work, i found that my last toe is always squished and that results in bruises/blisters. thats my main discomfort and make it difficult to walk in them.

i was wondering if anyone has a similiar experience with their shoes, and how many wears or any solutions you guys might have to solve the problem? tia

May I ask which brand/store are the oxfords from?

Not that i know of. There is a high probability of no local retail presence for any given english dress shoes brand if they are not carried by the department stores.

thanks for the reply. looking for alternatives to my edetal MTO as its pretty heavily worn for roughly a year of wear.

I like my italian shoes - very comfortable. Not cheap to buy, but they last a long long time cos they look good even after a few years and you have to re-sole them

The cheap ones are a waste of money. Looks terrible and gotta throw them away after a while

Brand is just a matter of your taste / preference

For a pair of shoes below $150, which brand /type should I look at?

My office don't require formal business wear therefore this shoes will be very seldom worn...

Any feedback are welcome.

Thanks.

If you can increase to $180, you can try Ed Et Al at Millenia Walk. Singapore brand.

Otherwise try shoes in departmental stores.

Hi,

Thank you for your recommendation.

May i know if you guys feels that it is just too much to spend on a shoe you will wear buy seldom, maybe once in a week or even once in 2 weeks?

I don't mind spending, but i do know the sole will tear if left untouched.

That is my main issue after having a few pair of shoes, even for Blackhammer brand shoes.

I rotate my shoes, and as a result I normally wear each of my shoes once a week. Or even once 2 weeks.

So my usage is probably same as yours on an 'each' shoe basis.

dont really rotate. probably cause i think grenson's design is decent.

Rotation is key. Fact is that a more expensive pair of shoes is not necessarily more durable than cheaper ones.

You could buy a pair of Edward Green as replacement at $1500 upwards but without rotation, I don't think it would outlast your edetal MTO much more (if at all) with the same amount of use.

Your edetal MTO would have set up back at least $500. Assuming they fit u well, you could consider getting 2 pairs of RTW which would cost u about $700 or $480 (if u get 1 GY welt and 1 blake stitch). IMHO, with rotation you should get better mileage on both pairs compared to continuing with a single pair w/o rotation (regardless the brand/cost).
