Cheers man. It was very good meeting you and everyone. It was a good night shooting the breeze etc.

Thank you for those that turned up. Please note the photos for the night and the event are on the Facebook page and the thread.

Cheers.

why don't you create a fb page rather than using a fb account. fb might remove this account for not being a real person.

Saw your post but all pictures are no longer accessible. Possible to repost again via Dropbox or elsewhere?

Hi guys, I am actually fairly keen on getting the calf tassle loafers from Meermin - classic collection. I understand that sizing can vary from different manufacturers and especially between shoe lasts (oxford vs loafers, and etc).

As such, is there anyone here with any experience with Meermin shoes online purchasing, particularly tassle loafers? As a point of referrence, I am wearing Edetal's Cityhall size 39(EE width) and Vass 39.5 oxford.

If it's possible, can we meet-up and coffee's on me! :s13:

That would be me. I'm a 39 for EEA as well. I wear a 5.5 for Ron last loafers. I'm actually game if you want to meet up to try. Would like to know my size for Vass as well.

there's a new leather footwear shop in one raffles place. their shoe collection are pretty classy, and prices are affordable for its quality. quite a wide variety they got there, and all come in limited collection. i prefer getting shoes from these indie boutiques. unlike pedro or aldo, you will seldom find someone wearing exact same shoe and brand as u. :)

Nice.. Looks good and no frills. What size do you normally wear for sports shoe? This is going. To be first ever pair of "real" dress shoes. I read from past posts that we should size down a minimum of 0.5 from normal size for meermin?

Black oxfords, I can never wear these due to high arch T.T

And the shoes screams to be mirror polished at least at the toecap.

Haha. Petia you are making me feel like a lazy boy for not polishing them.
Anyway those were pics taken fresh out of the box.

Hey, thats not a very easy question to answer....
Cos it really depends on what country the sports shoes come from...
I am a keen runner and wear Brooks Adrenaline GTS14s size 9.5s IIRC (Brooks goes by US sizing)
In general, when you want to convert US sizes to UK, you size down either 0.5 or 1 but this is really tough to say.
EU sizing is for EU made sports shoes is a whole other ball game.
Plus you really shouldnt compare sports shoes to dress shoes, they fit completely differently.
A better way would be to head to down to Robinsons and try on some Loakes or Barkers (which come in UK sizing) to get an idea of what your shoe size is. Get your length right first of all
U may find that you may fit into different sizes in different last shapes
As a general comparison, the Hiro last I would say fits pretty similar to the Loake Capital last .... both are fairly generous fitting lasts
Hope this helps

Hello,

I started my journey slightly more than a year ago, buying a pair each of the Loake Elland and Loake 771T with some vouchers I had then.

Since then, I've learnt that I prefer the Loake Elland, which is on the 85 last and G fit to the 771T on the 3625 last, F fit, despite the former being an oxford and the latter a derby. I have what I think are pretty wide feet.

I now think that I'm a bit more ready to move to the next step, i.e., better shoes, or at least those that aren't corrected grain. The problem is, whilst there are numerous last comparisons across brands, the lasts on these shoes aren't the ones usually spoken about within the Loake brand of shoes.

Will anyone be able to point me in the right direction of lasts/fits I should be considering, maybe within the Loake 1880 range, and Meermin or similar(ly) priced/standard shoes?

Grateful for any directions at all!
