I am only familiar with Saphir Renovateur and Creme.

Can anyone share if their wax (specifically neutral) works better than Kiwi or other similar brands?

Actually, in my experience, their cremes and Renovateur is over-rated for the prices. The renovateur is unique in the sense that it can take away excess polish which causes "checking". However, many lesser brands can do that thru a two step process.

Their waxes however are good because they smell better and provide a better shine than others.

I was there today. No discount for Saphir range. Y'all can save a trip there

Yup, but you'll still qualify for the 12% rebate for citibank card / Tangs card holder.

I end up getting a Braun hairdryer instead. :D

That is interesting. I have a pair of MTO from Ed. Got them about 2-3 years back and personally I don't feel that they are comparable to Meermin's LM line. Of course, given Meermin's reputation for QC, it's hard to say. Leather quality for the LMs are better, at least in my opinion.

The only plus point is the customization but at a price point of $700, it opens the doors to other options out there like Septieme, Carmina, Meermin etc.
That's just how I feel. After all, they've got to pay the rent.

My BIL just collected his Septieme from local store. He wasn't pleased nor impressed with the finishing of the shoe and keeps ranting so much on the lousy box quality, despite paying S$800.

Anyway, for Meermin, what's the difference between GY-1 and GY-2 construction? :s11:

That is sad to hear. I was expecting the a good finish on Septieme given their photos were pretty impressive.

Actually I find no issue in general, but perhaps these are the flaws which he can't accept.

1) The threads are like "hariy", as if being "abused"
2) There a patch of missing "flesh" (circled red).

And the box that's made him mad. :s13:

Wow I think even Meermin boxes are better quality. Although that is offset by the scrotum leather used.

Can't tell much of the patina job from the pics.

The box i spose is the box used in general for SL shoes. Not within control of the local retailer.

One must be mindful that these are shoes retailing at no more than EUR250 (I think) at the country of origin so the box quality might commensurate with that in mind.
