I can fit in well for english shoes like AS, Loake and Grenson in UK7. So for Meermin LM loafer, which size should I take to fit nicely?

W/o finding out more, I would suggest 6.5, based on my understanding of the experience of most people.

Hey guys, so i'm quite keen to take the next step and foray into 'better' shoes - meermin comes to mind - but am unsure of sizing etc.

I have experience with the Loake RTWs, and generally have got broad feet. On my pairs of loakes I am F fitting, and in general I tend to think that round toes fit me better.

Anyone is familiar with the lasts / fits of meermins, or do you think I should write to them?

Hi, looking to get a new shoe for work use and i came across loake in robinson. Find is quite heavy, the leather stiff and the sole looks slippery. Is it really suitable for daily wear? Also as it is not really very cheap, can the sole be replaced once it wears off coz my sole usually start wearing off after 9 -12mths

The same shoes can probably be had for much less online. Can't blame robinsons. Business cost espec rental is a killer in sg.

Why would u worry about the fit if they are the SAME shoes that u can try at robinsons? Anything else i can understand.

A lot of Maganni shoes are blake stitch. They do some goodyear welted one as well. Do make sure you are buying the right one. You can buy them from Nordstrom. A few models are currently on sale and they do free shipping.

I have gone on without any sort of vibram or toe caps on my leather soles for all my goodyear welted shoes. Most of the time, i am fine. I came close to slipping when the tiles in mall gets wet.

The only time i really fell was when I had to cross a small little bridge which is build on an arc (no steps, just granite curved from one part of the lake to the other). I slipped on the way down. I reason it is down to traditional Chinese architecture not being built to cater for leather soled shoes. Still i do not apply vibram to that pair of shoes or others.

Edetal provide resoling services for Goodyear welt shoes. If I can rem they charge $150 for their own brand. Not sure about other shoemakers brand though...

Not sure if this is the place to ask but I just bought a pair of carshoes and was advised by the SA to buy the sponge shoe tree that cost 150 dollars!!

Any idea where I can sponge shoe trees ?

Also I am experiencing heel slip from my newly bought meermin shoe, went to the cobbler and he suggested putting in an insole but now the shoe is a bit tight and there is still some heel slip, is it due to the design of the shoe or ? Any way to fix it or should I just sell it?

How long did your shoes last before you needed a resole and where do you get it done?

I have my 1st pair of Goodyear welted shoes since late 2013. Probably 15 months old. So none of my shoes are re-soled yet. And that 1st pair is still in good shape. Probably can last me another 2 years before I need to re-sole. Probably replace the rubber section in 12 months' time.

Right now, all my goodyear welted shoes are still looking good.
