Havnt seen a 189 dollar bata shoe though. Maybe archangel can offer his observation or maybe if I'm walking pass their penin store I'd hop in and take a peek

I only have experience with rubber soled GYW ambassadors. Was only around $99 give or take? Still at that price it's heads and shoulders above local rivals in its given market segment like Pedro and Aldo. No idea about Archules since I've abandoned all purely cemented crap by then.

My opinion is that Meermin has a styling edge. Though imo if you're going to spend the cash for an overseas purchase and shipping time, it wont hurt to cough up abit more for the next tier like Carminas or Loake 1880 at least.

You do really get what you pay for (to an extent) once you transcend the mass market or fashion cesspit.

Assuming no QC issues, Meermin will always be better, the leather used is better. I have listed a pair of Bata Ambassador shoes in my carousell http://carousell.com/p/20241970/ You can take a look at the pics for reference. Last wise they are actually very nice, better than the Hiro last from Meermin, rather Italian.

yes i will topy it after 1 month wear.

cos... i think it is not economical sensible for me to resole for this pair of shoes which cost me ard $200.

The resole cost can easily get me a new pair.

How does one achieve such a high shine on their dress shoes? Are the shoes polished leather or is it the result of polishing their calf leather?

Collected from various place when I ordered my shoes. Saphir product mostly from overseas website and brushes usually from mustafa...

If you want to topy your shoes, don't wear it down too much. And dry it completely before you send it to the shoe guy.

Actually skolyx price is pretty competitive too, with excellent customer service. it's just the shipping costs though

Depends on how many shoes is in your rotation, gait and surfaces you often walk on. Its hard wearing regardless.

Worn aldry cobbler will tear/grind off and put a new one. Rinse repeat until sole integrity cannot supporr
