Fellow 13t users, want to check with you if your recorded video file sizes using H.265 are exceptionally large with bitrates of more than 200Mbps?

A 4K 30fps (no HDR) 30sec clip on the main camera results in a 1GB file using H.265 (For comparison, Samsung Galaxy A54's 30sec 4K 30fps clip is less than 120MB with 30Mbps bitrate)

On my 13t, a similar 30sec 4K 30fps clip using H.264 is about 300MB (bitrate 68Mbps).

Went down to Funan Xiaomi Service Centre and their 13t display set has the same issue.
No such disproportionate bitrate issue with the 13t Pro display set though.

Customer Service + technician informed that the H.265 is not doing any video compression (???) and to stick to H.264 since storage will be an issue.

Hopefully HyperOS update can fix this 'bug'.

High bitrate video is always preferred and a huge plus point in review. You can always compress video, but you can't magically gain back lost data.

True about the minimal loss in quality being aboon, but if this H.265 is not doing any compression at all, then there should be another option for users who want to maximise storage space with efficient compression.

Also, this issue was not observed on the 13t Pro which is essentially the same setup as the 13t

Are all setting identical? Dolby vision? Tested on another phone, DV alone add about 60% data.

Settings identical: no Dolby Vision, no HDR, no HDR10+, 4K 30fps

Since the Xiaomi Service Centre customer service + technician acknowledge that the H.265 has zero compression in the 13t (note that the technician himself uses a 13t and set his phone to use H.264 cuz of the same concern with storage), I would lean towards this being a bug, rather than it being a feature to preserve data with least compression ratio. Why only observed in 13t and not 13t Pro?
After all, H.265 is supposed to achieve a good compression ratio with efficiency.

Hooted the 13T pro yesterday from Shopee @ $813.99 w/ the free S1 watch to replace my Xiaomi 12.

Hope the cam is better than XM12

My 13T for some reason requested for my PIN when I tried to do a fingerprint unlock last week. Inputted my PIN but no go. Phone got locked out and can't log back in, and I got a refund. Both Global version, same 12GB. I refunded the pro too with same issue, but didn't reorder.

Got a new set of 13T and it is like a different phone model. Battery life is much better now. Easily 2-3 days of light usage. The slippery glossy back is no longer that slippery. The overly sensitive touchscreen when browsing is no longer an issue. However I have to say the screen is no longer as bright for sure, and maybe a tad less vibrant.

I suspect I got a lemon for my last 13T. Overall user experience is back to Xiaomi usual standards imho and I am satisfied. (y) I refunded the pro too with same issue, but didn't reorder.

Anyone tried using Gcam 9.2 on 13T? It is a big diff for me. Just stand there point and click. I am not a techie. Gcam takes 0.5s to take a pic though.

Yea I think these Dimensity chipsets pale in comparison to SD for battery life. Likely would avoid them in the future

Model: 13T Pro 12+512 version, activated 12+8gb ram.
Battery is solid for me.
Debloated using adb for unnecessary google stuff, Xiaomi adware trackers like msa etc.
AOD on, games, music, video playing. Mostly wifi usage, running tile app to enable tap to lock at home screen area. Refresh hertz set as normal from 60 to 144, brightness at auto too.

Phone fully loaded with all apps and banking stuff activated so really real case usage. This is only 1st day usage after 1 full charge on 120W charger. I'm expecting the battery life to get better after two weeks.

What xiaomi stuff can be safely removed with the adb debloater?

But after every software update, these bloatware will come back?
