Xiaomi 17T got china sets? Thought it's only global sets.
They only this cycle then release in China and India(which strangely have alway been missing T series, they also don't have the F Pro/Ultra)

I think Xiaomi finally realize they need to fight the Oppo Reno, Vivo S/V series, Honor numbered series because that's a very popular price tier in China

And to be honest, Xiaomi phones are in a rather awkward situation currently I feel.

Personally under Xiaomi branding, probably only the 17 Ultra will have people getting because of the camera. The rest of the Xiaomi & Redmi series are like neither here nor there.

You can get the more value for money Poco series in most cases. Like for example, you can get poco F8 ultra which is probably cheaper than the 17T series. Performance wise, poco F8 ultra is probably better. And I don't think the camera for the 17T series will be very good to be honest.
Issue with POCO is they are usually come with more melware (advertisements).

How much is easy to swallow. We looking at 1 T. How much space is 1 T?

I myself pre-ordered the 17T Pro 1TB (1024 GB) over in JB at RM3299, since i really liked the deep purple, and 1TB option isn't available in Singapore. Price is now back to RM3499 after launch.

Prices are definitely going up on most electronics this year. With Apple as today's example, even existing products out in the market can see a price hike, not just for future launches. I've been purchasing laptop for staffs at my company and the price went up by S$1k on a same model since Jun'25 to Jun'26. I think you have to decide for yourself whether you really need, or want a new phone going ahead next few years.

Tia Gong is because the chips become expensive
Chips abit because as cpu becoming more advance(smaller) they get more expensive to make, battery capacity going up YOY also so increasing abit also. While these two prices increase a little but also are kinda offset by technology advances that make them cheaper to produce over time

But the culprit is the ram and storage since they're getting siphoned by Data Center, PC ram price went up by 300-400%, PC SSD now also on the way to 200%-300%-400%

The market is also expecting mobile phone ram/storage to be more expensive, in the short term™

The best we can do is guess work since only those working in manufacturing knows the true price. But also should keep in mind there's lots of greedy opportunistic companies taking advantage of this ram/storage situation and price gouging more than they should

We have seen some brand/model that only increase modestly while other brand/model have outrageous hikes

Wife prefer buying local from brick & mortar.
you can try Handphone Inspiration at marina square, they got glass like screen protector, cut out from machine which i used for curved phone like oneplus 13 and magic 7 pro.

Not cheap though...around 30 bucks.
