I think the Huawei GT monitor is good value for its specs + the preorder gift, but I agree that prices are very different outside of the promotion period. I did not get my Xiaomi 34 UW monitor at the lowest price, but paid 470 bucks for it a year ago. Compared to this Huawei monitor, this is around 20 to 25% more expensive even at the promotional rate. The beauty of the Huawei monitor is that you get proper 3 years warranty.
I saw the huawei ultrawide monitor display at NEX Huawei outlet this morning and it looks impressive for its color vibrancy.

Yea I saw that there was a promo on the huawei.

I didnt had any intention to change from my xiaomi monitor till I saw someone posted about this huawei and it's specs.

Posted my monitor on carousel and found a buyer, then go buy the huawei haha..

If I factor in the free headset, basically the Huawei monitor price even lower then my selling price of my 2nd hand xiaomi monitor

The launch day offer is certainly very attractive. I was thinking of doing the same, i.e. sell the Xiaomi and buy the Huawei. But I decided the Xiaomi is good enough for my usage. It is mostly used for work, so nicer colour, higher refresh rate and higher brightness level will make any meaningful improvement for me. :)

Hello all.

Currently interested in getting a 34" monitor. Was eyeing the Xiaomi initially then came across this thread, and saw the Huawei. How are your experiences? Any recommendations?

Xiaomi AD set: $749 from the physical retailer
Xiaomi PI set: $488-$529 from online, but seems can get cheaper

Huawei Official set: $689 from online

Appreciate any kind response! Thanks!

they were giving $140 off during the 9.9 sale, with credit card could hv got another $65 off, but i didnt buy coz got users commented that the built in sound bar is mediocre and the soundbar light is glaring

its not soemthing im very willing to accept, hence im waiting for an improved version then i buy, no rush...

the soundbar light can be turn off. So no worries. I turn off mine so there isnt any rgb light.

i am using the soundbar as a monitor stand and purchased my own bookshelf speakers from edifier. However i am using the inbuilt microphone on the monitor for casual calls while the sound output on the bookshelf speakers. Will swap to headset for important meetings

previously i was using the xiaomi monitor and the monitor stand protrudes out too much, my table width is not that huge, i think only 55cm so with the xiaomi monitor stand, my mousepad edges touches the protruded legs of the xiaomi monitor stand. I didnt like it and purchased a monitor arm.

The huawei soundbar monitor stand is smaller in depth compared to the xiaomi one, so now my mousepad has a wider space to move around, didnt have to use a monitor arm and sold that arm away.

"the monitor stand protrudes out too much"
"sold that arm away"

XM and arm = no stand. Nothing Is protruding compared to Huawei now. :p

yea i sold my xiaomi monitor and monitor arm away.

Using the huawei with the soundbar as a stand.

previously i was using the xiaomi without the arm, thus the xiaomi monitor stand legs are protruding that i had to use a monitor arm.

Now after i sold the XM monitor, with this new huawei, the soundbar stand depth is smaller than the xiaomi monitor stand legs, thus i dont need the monitor arm at all and continue to use the soundbar as the stand.

so i sold that monitor arm away lor.

More solid? I don't know what you mean by more solid haha.. but it has that same anti glare look of the xiaomi.

Colors are better maybe because the contrast ratio is higher at 4000:1 and it can go brighter than the xiaomi. It can also be set to 10 bit color.
