more solid means hardware looks stable ... like not as flimsy as Prism , this type got ppl say screen break easily
Huawei QC generally is up there. Prism is just knock off junk.

If not for HW getting out of the Android system, i would have continued using them.

It also looks clean and i heard it performs well for a brand that is not known for a monitor brand.
the prices keep going up over the past few months though... no idea if it is worth it if it is selling at 549 even during sale esp with the new huawei

Looking at the Huawei Mateview GT. May I know the height of the monitor without the stand? My google search says it's about 33cm but that seems a bit short.

The XM34 was good value for its price back then. But beyond a certain price point, you might want to look elsewhere.

its the same height as a 27 inch monitor.

Anyway i have it. Just measured for u. its 36cm from top to bottom including the bezel.

Its not short at all...i believe it will be same for the xiaomi monitor. all 34 inch ultrawide is similar height with a 27 inch monitor. Plus minus due to how thick or thin the bezel are.

As per what Odessa mentioned, we could get it to nearly 400 in the past which was really bang for bucks. Personally, I don't feel it's worth it if it goes over 500 lol. But it depends on how much can you get the new Huawei and decide whether the price difference is worth that difference in performance.

Is the Huawei Mateview GT worth upgrading over the Xiaomi 34 inch? I'm thinking of whether to upgrade my 2 year old Xiaomi for the Huawei on 11.11, but not sure whether it will be that much of an upgrade? The Xiaomi has served me well.

if you are just using for office work, maybe not.

i upgraded because i still play fps games so that little refresh rate bump is still a tad better.

previously i was using 280hz monitor and downgraded to this xiaomi 144hz ultrawide and i do feel the difference. so any higher refresh rate is always more welcome

The higher color contrast and brighter nits of the monitor do make the colors look nicer but then again it wont help in any office work. Just more of a want thats all.

The base of the huawei also has a smaller depth as i am not using monitor arm so got more space for my large desk mouse pad.

And another reason is that i sold the xiaomi at a higher price that i bought it for... so technically i use it free for a year. So why not? ;)

oh and another reason is that the huawei mateview gt came with the huawei freebuds studio ANC headphones that i saw retail price in amazon sg for $398. So its worth the "upgrade". I think lotsa ppl gotten that free gift of the headphones so u can find lotsa ppl selling that headphones for cheap in carousel.

So with my good selling price for my xiaomi monitor and with the free headphone along with the better monitor panel, it was a no brainer decision to sell off and get a new monitor with a fresh 3 year warranty. The xiaomi monitor i bought only had a 1 year warranty and it was nearly ended when the time i sold it.

Seems like the free gift is now the Freebuds 3...
is it? i saw on shopee site like no free gift indicated. Anyway no need to wait for free gift ba. Monitor itself is good on its own. The higher brightness / nits. contrast ratio and refresh rate is worth the extra cost over the xiaomi, esp if u couple in discount coupons.

Good for office work, but this monitor, the colours and contrast is just not there.

The build quality is great though. Best monitor stand I have ever used in my life. Super clean and minimalist looking as well.
