I agree with Hyperfuse's response. It really depends on what you are going to use the monitor for primarily. I was toying with the idea of upgrading from my Xiaomi 34 inch to the Huawei earlier, but after some consideration, I decided against it since I am using the monitor mainly for work. It does not matter whether the refresh rate is higher or screen colour and brightness is better. I generally don't max out the brightness anyway. I've got no complains with the contrast whether it is for movies, work or games. Is the Huawei Mateview GT worth upgrading over the Xiaomi 34 inch? I'm thinking of whether to upgrade my 2 year old Xiaomi for the Huawei on 11.11, but not sure whether it will be that much of an upgrade? The Xiaomi has served me well.
I don't think it is a problem, at least I am only speaking for myself. Some curve monitors are not that curved, and frankly, that supposedly wrap around experience is not something I will miss if I use a flat screen monitor. I feel it will only make a difference if you go for those super ultra wide monitors from Samsung.is it recommended to use ultrawide 34 Inch monitor with flat (non curved) screen?

Yup, I went through the same thought process and decided not to buy. I changed the Xiaomi black level to 10 recently and I think the image looks betterI agree with Hyperfuse's response. I am using Zotac GTX 1660 super amp graphic card for my Xiaomi 34" monitor. When i set it to 144MHZ, the screen flicker occasionally after every few seconds. But under 120MHZ, its totally fine. Anyone encounter this problem. I am using the DP cable provided by xiaomi. Is it 1.4?
oops, should be hzMHz? Wow.
Thanks, i suspect its due to the cable. Let me buy another cable and test it out. Thank youI've had flickering issues with at first but it went away after I changed the DP cable. I did so as I suspected a bandwidth issue. Not sure if that would work for you.
Yes, the issue was resolved after i changed to another DP cable. Kinda strange that even though the monitor is capable of 144hz, Xiaomi packed a substandard cable not being able to support it fully. Thanks, i suspect its due to the cable. Let me buy another cable and test it out. Thank you
Normally the cables provided in the box are of average quality, unless you paid a lot for the monitor. In this case, this ultra wide monitor is cheap, and I supposed that is where they cut cost. Not to say that it is the right thing to do, but something’s gonna give at this price point.Yes, the issue was resolved after i changed to another DP cable. Glad you managed to sort it outYes, the issue was resolved after i changed to another DP cable. Kinda strange that even though the monitor is capable of 144hz, Xiaomi packed a substandard cable not being able to support it fully.
is this monitor better than the prism ones?
I heard prism sucks big timeCan get newer model with 165hz
Huawei
Prism
Not true, i have been using mine for more than 3yrs, not a single problemI heard prism sucks big time
I feel different people, different expectations and experience. I've not used a Prism+ monitor, but I am just saying that in general. There is nothing special about their monitors since I believe they are buying it from OEM and slapping their brand on it.I heard prism sucks big time

Xiaomi Surface 34 is a good monitor mainly because of its price. At its current retail price from Xiaomi's official store, I think the Huawei GT 34 inch seems like a better buy.
To some extend, yes. It was good in value because at the point when it was released, it is impossible to find a ultrawide curve VA monitor that runs at 3440 x 1440 resolution, and at 144Hz refresh rate, at the price point (I got mine from parallel import for around 470). In fact, you will struggle to find even ultrawide @ 1080p at the price point. The monitor at launch uses a Samsung VA panel, though I think they have changed the panel provider over time.is it due to the refresh rate ?
