anyone knows how to install vpn apk or anyway to setup vpn on xiaomi box?
All the guide are not usable anymore

Its still an "APK" if ur vpn has it say from Playstore... Just install to ur box as any other apps...

If its not working, meaning its not compatible with XM box...

Hi I just got Mibox 3.
try to play mkv files from other PC via DLNA, using 高清播放气 (pre-installed in the box). There is no problem in DLNA setup from source.

But unable to click or go down to files level in browser page. Why? any setup issue?

Any other apps I can use as DLNA player, which can installed into mibox?

First, it uses only 1 system, not the system1/system2 as earlier devices. You will start out with significantly more memory
Second, it still has USB connector for usb stick or hdd. You can use a utility like APP2SD to move some apps and their data to external HDD
Third If you can discover how to root this model you can eliminate about 450MB space that is wasted by useless Xiaoi apps that are geoblocked outside PRC

U using 1 now?

What u mean by System1/System2, storage partition?

This is troublesomesome n we have read that so many users can't even make this work on previous model... And how many USB with this box? If only 1, some issues will arise when USB involve

Again, this is troublesome. If a newbie can't even get the USB thing work, then not to even mention about rooting.

In general, why buy a restricted and not user friendly TV box... Definitely not for newbie imo...

I understand that the authorities are clamping down on the copyright issues so the free movies may not be available any more.

You need to figure out how to configure to install google play store.

So, if you are not IT savy, it will be a challenge to configure and install additional apps.

But, if you just want to watch PRC channels, it should be ok to buy provided your wifi is fast enough.

Advice to newbie... Its individual choice to get any box.

Objective is streaming... If anyone wanna go thru the "HARD WAY" with end result still streaming, by all means, get Xiaomi...

Even if wanna watch PRC channels, there is/are better box to get...

Its not abt what box to watch what... Its the apps we use...

Same as a TV logic... Its not what brand of TV we use to watch say Soccer, Is what we subscribe to watch soccer...

Get a Minix X6 or Himedia H7G3... Just to make it short, these 2 are much better for u with the questions u have asked...

how do i save all my apps in external sd card?
the default storage for the xiao mi is so limited.
i want to move all the apps to sd card n run them from there.
do i need to install any apps ??

anyone using kodi on mibox? my YouTube add on keep having login failed error. googled for solution. say change YouTubelogin.py file but I can't find that file in my box directory. any one have this issue?
BTW. tried uninstalling kodi also.
