ICNTV is the default xiaomi apps and using Youku V2.5.

With starhub 300Mbps icntv verification failed and youku always buffering and only can watch in low resolution.

After switch to MR 1Gbps icntv able to watch and most of the apps (Youku, Tudou, LeTV) able to stream smoothly in ultra clear resolution.

And best of all no need to pay extra like VQ freedom VPN.

Not sure why there are so many negative feedback with MR but so far it has been good for me.

I thought MR comes with teleport vpn, could that be the reason why your streaming works fine

I also M1, without the VPN, iqiyi is quite slow at most can watch 高清. LeTV is good can watch at 超清. Not sure why you getting crap speed. On wired or wifi also the same for me.

Credits goes to imacbie bro, he told me this app. I just feedback my test results. =)
If you like it, better get the subscription, now got single day promo 50% discount and extra 90 days. Roughly $5/mth. Better than VQ Freedom VPN at $10/mth. haha..

indeed very cheap, but not as stable as other vpn...

one weird thing, they selling 7 days at $1 rmb, monthly at $30, i buy 10 X 7 days one, $10=70days? haha

For the bros using 网趣云加速 apk, you should go for the VPN instead (manual config)

At least you can use it on multiple platforms like PC, iOS etc.. and it's cheaper..

Look like the problem is with xiaomi, not 网趣云加速.
I am able to connect now after reboot xiaomi by turning off the power supply.
Actually the OS shell is quite sucky, it gives a lot of problem to quite a few apps.

regardless if on 100mb or 1GB plan, the bottle neck is still the link between SG and CN. unless using VPN with local CN server will help to provide better speed for buffering.

Personal experience with MR 90% of the time can watch smoothly in 超淸 vs SH which has to put to 标淸 to watch smoothly.

I managed to add in my account, but thereafter, the store wouldn't connect to the internet anymore.
It kept saying there is no internet connection.. This miui is really fked.. Now, I can't even change my wired connection to wireless w/o pulling the cable. Pffft

yep, problem is it randomly disconnects, and it won't restart it's VPN by itself, you have to manually reboot xiaomi and activate again :( no wonder 2 stars haha

Hi guys,

Am new to android tv, and the mi box caught my attention for the price.

I currently using only 100mbps cable broadband plan from starhub.

Izzt recommended for me to get the tv box?

I know qoo10 also provide with those premium channels.

Anyone can share their experience?

Thank you very much!

By randomly disconnects, you mean you watch halfway it disconnects?
I only encounter once, but its after many hours of watching. Feel like I watched too long then mibox not enough space for caching or what.

Most of the time are due to use remote power off mibox without deactivate the VPN that caused the connection problem. If I deactivate first then power off, I won't have any issue.
Its mibox OS not able to cleanly disconnect the connection and some processes stuck in the background.
