Hi guys,

Am new to android tv, and the mi box caught my attention for the price.

I currently using only 100mbps cable broadband plan from starhub.

Izzt recommended for me to get the tv box?

I know qoo10 also provide with those premium channels.

Anyone can share their experience?

Thank you very much!

If starhub, can forget about it, unless you are prepared to subscribe VPN service too.
My friend on starhub cable or fibre say unable to watch. Keep buffering.

Actually need VPN or not, depends on what you want to watch using mibox. You need VPN if you want to watch from LeTV, Youku, iQiYi, etc because all these are based in China.
Qoo10 those premium channels are live stream IPTV which you may not need VPN to watch.

I am on M1 using 网趣云加速 recommended by imacbie bro here.
The website is wangqu.cc. This VPN is for china.
Its an app and very easy to use. Just open the app and press a button to activate/deactivate.
I am not sure about other VPN, still pretty new to android tv.
Does your current VPN has china server?

M1 200 mbps fibre.

What VPN you are using?

I think is VPN express, but I run on data bundle so I can change it anytime.

My worry now is my isp. 100mbps cable, which I kinda worry for the streaming and stuff.

Stick to it. I regretted updating to 1.3.53 and now 1.3.61 the firmware improves on most things but taken away the essential tools for overseas users like us. Need to install 3rd party apps to work around...

Try reboot mibox by turning off the power supply

Thanks, tried that a few times - pulled out the power plug, waited few minutes then plug back in - still no go. The screen keeps showing me the red button and cannot start. :(

The xiaodou app also cannot run now, so buggy. :(

Finally managed to resolve it, so sharing with the bros here.

I went to the settings, and changed the DNS to 8.8.8.8, now the app is ok.

By the way, I'm on M1 fibre and I highly recommend 网趣云加速.
With it, a lot of streams are very smooth where previously they were either very laggy or could not even go in.

Previously, you were able to connect without changing the DNS right?

I had changed my DNS to see if the speed will improve before I tried 网趣云加速, so I never knew DNS setting need to change then can use 网趣云加速

Yup, previously it worked using default DNS.

I just bought the box 2 days ago only.

Yesterday was still fine without changing the DNS. But after I bought the 1 year sub, and after turning off power last night, today it just couldn't connect.
