The guy, bromix, maintaining the addon for kodi has retired... All machines using kodi+youtube won't work now.

You need some annoying technical steps to temporarily make it work. Read up here : http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=200735 , at around page 200 onwards...

Youtube vanilla app for me still works but the UI sucks...

It's not bromix, it's a stopgap edits by the people over at the thread which are merged into the repository as can been seen by the big jump in version numbers.

Anyway, I had manually edited my kodi youtube using my own keys. The add-on really need someone to update it, especially for sorting video searches...

Hi, I was at the IT fair last weekend and saw many TV boxes on sale. Most are around $120, even M1 is offering $5 per month for 24 months.

So far none is impressive other than China stations streaming. After reading this thread, I am still quite confused if these boxes are somewhat same as we are doing live streaming from our computer. Most times lags when more people log in.

Any forum or web site to tell more about such device?

Hi guys,

Noobie on Xiaomi tv box here.

My colleague recently passed to me his Xiaomi tv box, model MiBOX1S, running on android 4.2.2. I think its like the 2nd generation tv box.

My problem i faced is the apk example shafa "sofa" that i found can only be installed on android 4.7.7 and above. My question is whether is it possible to manually upgrade the firmware to a more later android os ?

My problem i faced is the apk example shafa "sofa" that i found can only be installed on android 4.7.7 and above. My question is whether is it possible to manually upgrade the firmware to a more later android os ?


Xiaomi regularly update its firmware to the latest version.

Go to Setting and About to determine what is the firmware.

The latest firmware version is 1.4.6.

Please check with your colleague on whether his mi box was rooted.

If it is rooted, then it is not advisable to update the firmware as it may remove rooted status and affect the Google play store.

I believe that you have some mix up with the shafa market.

The latest version of the shafa market is 4.7.7.

It should be able to be installed in your mi box.

I don't there is such thing as android 4.7.7, android jumped from 4.4.4 to 5.0, there isn't anything in between.

Shafa market can run on most android box using android 4.x and 5.x

The current version of shafa market is ver 4.7.7

I have problems :

when I try to read USD files ( Shafa apk, kodi Apk ) , initially it was able to read.


Then it went completely off, when I try to install.

I have reset to factory settings, still now I am not able to read apk files from my USB .

Can any goodfellow help me ?

azdrama addon has this problem regularly. just wait for it to recover.

The better way to watch azdrama is using the app "rss video player"

i've mi tv box 3 enhanced version. i've rooted before but after i factory restored, i cannot update xiaomi firmware. anyone can help?
